Protronix Series 9 Extreme Performance Thermal Compound Paste Syringe (Pack of 5)

My late 2009 Macbook was running hotter than normal and fan was constantly coming on at high rpms to account for the higher heat. Even just browsing the web. It was getting to the point that I couldn't even put the computer on my lap without something underneath it.I decided it was time to redo the thermal paste after almost 10 years of use. so I ordered this just because I needed some, though I suspect I have way more than I will need for years.After taking out my macbook's logic board and removing the heatsink, I removed the nasty dried clay like substance that at one time used to be heat sink paste and cleaned it off thoroughly with alcohol.I applied a nice generous even coating of this paste to the gpu and cpu, reattached the heatsink and put it all back together.After booting back up and letting the unit warm up, I initially noticed no difference in temps, I was still hovering at about 102c with only a few broswer tabs open and fan had kicked on high. I thought well I guess that didnt help, but after leaving he computer on for about 30 minutes and letting it do its thing, the fans calmed down and since then I have done several fairly intensive tasks and done what I can to heat the cpu up and it has gone no higher than 80c. So A 20 degree plus difference is huge. my fans also no longer come on excessively or at such a high speed. and The laptop is much cooler to the touch.Well worth it and now I am wondering what else I can apply this to. I have plenty of computers I can use it on.

After two years, my coffee perculator (Farberware) stopped heating too soon, resulting in weak incomplete perk. This is a common failure with many brands. The solution is to clean both the thermostat and the spot where it contacts the bottom of the pot, and then apply this thermal paste between the thermostat and the pot to maximize heat conductivity. (Further improvement can be achieved by scrubbing out the well at the bottom of the pot where the perculator tube fits in, again to heat transmission. Then perculate with a baking soda solution three times to further disolve coffe residue.)-Test your perculator's temperature with a digital instant read thermometer: a new and well functioning one should reach ~195 degrees. A failing one may only reach ~150 degrees. Try both this thermal paste and cleaing out the little well. Works a charm.

working fine at the moment, cpu is cool doesnt seem to be heating up in odd areas. only complaint the hole that the paste squeezes out of. is a bit too big/large however you wanna put it, for my liking. also the plunger on the one i used was a bit stiff idk if that cause i didnt use em for about 2 months. as i didnt want to work on my computer during the winter time with the heat on and so on. as my house isnt exactly good for keeping humidity out. but its working fine on a ryzen 7 1800x just fine and intel idr what intel im using but its a more recent one only 2 years old. no problems. i only bought this for my intel cpu as i clean and switch out the paste once a year on my cpu's.

The two surfaces of a heat sink and the top of a computer chip are machined to be flat but under a microscope are not as flat as they could be. The jagged edges trap air and prevent a smooth close mating of the two metallic surfaces. This heat sink compound fills in those voids where air would otherwise be trapped and allows for greater heat transfer from the computer chip to the heat sink and thus reduces CPU temperature and prolongs the life of the computer chip. Just like heat in a car engine can shorten the life of that engine trapped heat in a computer chip to heat-sink can shorten the life of the computer chip.In over 30 years of using various compounds some are truly better than others, but this one is well within a degree of some of the best ones sold for much more. I give these away when I sell older heat sinks that I no longer have a need for to help the other person.

This thermal grease is easy to use. The syringe makes it easy to apply. Once it is applied, spread it with a piece of cardboard or a plastic knife. If it gets on your fingers, the grease will transfer to whatever you touch.

The product is just fine, but when I actually used one, it’s like hot sauce packs from Taco Bell, about enough to cover a dime, if you’re lucky
