This is great filet knife especially if you like Northern Pike, this is one of the best knives I have used for getting the y-bones out. I bought one of these knives for my fishing partner and my son also. Edge retention could be better but a couple swipes on the sharpener and your back in business.

Be careful. Ultra sharp. Easy to control. I filet chicken breasts for chicken parmesian. I use a knife sharpener on occasion. The sheath is great; I mean, I can't slice myself putting the knife back in the sheath and the sheath protects the knife in my over-filled knife drawer. You really can't do better.

Had high hopes for this, got it to filet catfish and was careful to not scrape against bone, glass cutting board and it’s already dull after one use. Do not buy.Updating because seller provided great customer service.

Love this knife... I have not used it for fileting, but use it to cut Deer meat off the bone. Works great, perfect size and is very sharp. The handle feels nice in yiur hand and doesn't slip if your hands get a little nasty. Great knife especially for the price. Comes with everything for you to keep it razor sharp and instructions on how to sharpen it

This in a excellent filet knife. Very durable, extra sharp. Very easy to use. The size of the filet knife is excellent for fileting larger size fish. Looks and feels nice in the hand. The sharpener, can be assembled a little stronger. Mine had a broken piece inside, but was able to fix it and put it back together.

Recently i purchased a smoker and have been smoking our meats. I was wanting to cube a pork belly and the first time i di it i didnt have this knife and everything else in the knife block that i tried just mangled the meat. Last time i did it i used this knife and man did it make a difference. smooth long cuts the exact size i was looking for. If you have need for a sharp knife for cooking this wont disappoint! The grip on the knife is really nice so you wont have to worry about your hand slipping while using the knife either.
