Thank you for your question. The colors that come in this set are:red, yellow, blue, green, orange, magenta, violet, peach, turquoise, brown, black and white.

Q: What's the difference between this and the washable tempera paint?

No real difference. This is washable as well. HOWEVER, if you want to be able to paint on black or dark papers this is THE BEST tempera. Super vivid and stand out against the dark backdrop. Other tempera’s dry kinda transparent like they absorbed into the paper.

Q: I see reviews that say the tops were broken on arrival. Has anything been done to correct that issue?

No, I did not ask that anything be done. It was just the top portion of the lid, the paint itself was ok so I worked around the broken lids.
