Made of iron and then painted black, not heavy-duty”
The product is probably made of iron and then painted black because paint is chipping off. I’m using it only since last 5 days and paint is coming off .I put my microwave weighing 40 kg and part of the shelf is already bent. It’s unbelievable that manual says u can load 150 kg per shelf. Now I cannot return this poor quality product. Feeling disappointed “

Strong and Sturdy .Easy to assemble 25/2/2019
Oh my!... I am so pleased. I was a bit hesitant scared i would receive wobbly cheap shelving.... But this is so sturdy. Holds more then 100kg per shelve perfect for my kitchen. The shelves are completely adjustable. It gives my kitchen a little kick of modern flaie. It took about 30min to assemble with 2people. It fits wonderfully in the corner of my kitchen and l put the microwave on one shelf..... I just love this rack, and i do not hesitate in recommending it! Not bad for rs 2799...Exactly what i needed! Thanks a lot Amazon

Loved it !
I have loved all the Amazon Basic products that I have used and this 3 Shelf system is the best. It is easy to assemble and material seems very durable. Was looking for such simple system for so long...the best thing is it can be used anywhere, I am using it as a Book shelf. Given the Price I would say it the best buy. 😊

Rusting issue just after 6 days
Content : it has started to rust just after 6-7 days. I’m using in kitchen to keep dry plates & utensils. But still it’s getting rust. I will not recommend to buy it.

Simple sturdy and Value for money.
Impressed by this little unit. Some key points:* Took about 15 minutes to assemble, Including 5 minutes to dismantle and reassemble after I misjudged the height of one the the shelves.* Really sturdy! I intend to keep an aquarium on it, and fully loaded with water it'll weigh around 60kgs, so I had to test it before embarking on that. I weigh 71kg and I simply sat on it to test it. It took my weight like a champ and even if I moved, there was no flex in the unit. You can see proof in the picture.* It is certainly not "made of iron and painted black", its probably some alloy, I don't think you can get an Iron shelf at this price which weighs this less.* It doesn't weight a lot in itself. You can easily move it when it's unladden.* The instructions weren't very clear but it took me a minute to figure it out, shouldn't be a problem to anyone.* Aesthetically I find it pleasing, it has an industrial vibe to it, my wife doesn't share my opinion, so looks can be polarising.* Longetivity remains to be seen, but I reckon there's nothing to go wrong if there's not much movement on it, which wont be a problem since it's a shelf so it's not expecting much movement in its life.I'll update the review if things go bad maybe. But for now, this product seems like a no brained.

Country of origin
I wonder why Amazon doesn't mention or conceals the country of origin in the description of the goods ( though mostly it's sub standard Chinese ). This would enable customer to make an informed choice & am sure would substantially curtail the return process as well.

Not as sturdy as claimed
Very easy to assemble. However, it is not as sturdy as claimed. Definitely cannot hold 250lbs. May be, it can hold 25lbs on each mesh. I tried to place a weight of 20kg on one shelf and I could sense that it is going deform permanently. Ideal for small amount of magazines, clothes, kitchen utensils etc, but not for heavy items. Don't cheat the customers with wrong specifications. If you are buying this to place a large amount of books, I suggest you to look for something else.

READ THIS FOR HOW TO ASSEMBLE THIS @#=£&% THING!
Right. I'm here to save your sanity. I hope you're reading this early in your Assembly Journey, because if not, you are probably reading it from an A&E bed having blown your blood pressure through the roof.Five minutes in I was cross. Fifteen minutes in, pretty miffed (I am, after all, British). 45 and I was ready to smash it to smithereens. The first mistake is to start, as instructed, with two little black clippy things. You try to clip them round the leg, as instructed. They don't fit! They don't meet! Occasionally they make a seductive little "click!" and your heart leaps! Until you realise that was YOUR side clicking and the other side has now unclipped. Cue gnashing of teeth. You repeat this, hoping those two clips were a manufacturing anomaly, on all the legs, getting progressively more livid. They aren't. They're all crap. You need Another Way. Don't do any of this. Read on instead.First thing - look at one of the shelves. At each corner, there is a metal tube. This tube is your friend. Not only does it fit over the pole but (something you'll only discover after an hour of gnashing and wailing) it FITS OVER THE CRAPPY CLIPPY THINGS! HA! If you know this, you'll also realise that the 1mm - 2mm gap where the crappy clippy thing doesn't meet its partner DOESN'T MATTER. Got it? This is important. If you don't know this the whole thing will go in the bin before you've got a shelf on. Hang on to this. It'll keep you sane.Right. 2. Grab two clippy things. You'll be momentarily convinced there are two types. There aren't. You've got one upside down. Make sure they are both the correct way up (with "top" pointing up). Put one of the crappy clippy things on to the pole and (this is CRUCIAL) make sure the little ridge inside the clippy thing is sitting into a groove on the leg. This ensures the crappy clippy things will only NOT meet by 2mm rather than, say, at all. Now clip the other side of the crappy clippy thing into the first one. Have you made sure they're both pointing up? Both fitting into the leg groove? Good, then you're fine. They won't meet. This DOESN'T MATTER.Do this at the same height on the four legs. Grab a shelf and lay it on the floor with its surface-that-will-have-things-on-it is facing a wall. Pokey a leg through a corner tube, right through until your first clip gets to the tube. In it goes! Snug as a bug and (this was my eureka moment) holding the crappy clippy thing pair together so they can't boing apart. Ha! Repeat, poking the other three legs through and then stand it up. Feel marginally smug.Put four more clips on, wherever you want your second shelf. Again, make sure the ridge and the groove are together, and make sure both have "top" facing up. When you have all four on, grab another shelf and GENTLY lower it down over the four poles. You may want help here - you want to get each corner tube at least a few mm over each crappy clip so they can't ping off. Once all are slightly covered, go right ahead and bang that shelf down hard so all the clips are covered. Boom.Repeat for the third one. Have a nice glass of icy Sauvignon and admire your work. You did not have a stress-related coronary. You've won.As a side note: did anyone else get seduced by social media images of one of those over the sink drainer jobbies? I did. Then discovered they are between £50 and £80. Ha! Hahaha! No. I looked at all manner of wire shelves (Google "Elfa") but, with wall bars etc, couldn't get them cheap enough (I've done the leg work for you. Don't bother. Everything else is more expensive). Then I found this. Fits the useless end bit of my work surface perfectly. The shelves are wire, so the dish water drains through. AND (bonus smuggery buggery points here) my plates, saucers and the dog bowls all slot into the shelf wires like they were made for them. BUHAHA HAHA.I have reserved a chrome cutlery drainer at Dunelm Mill (£3. £7 on here) and intend to attach it with S hooks to the shelf edge. I'm also going to screw the whole lot to the wall because I made some teeny weeny errors in measurement and one light sneeze and this whole shooting match is going sideways onto the tiled floor. But that's not Amazon's fault, it's mine. So, I have a fabulous, three tier drainer for £25. My plates etc fit perfectly and it all drains onto a tea towel. No longer am I washing stuff up and trying to jam the clean stuff amongst the filthy stuff on the teeny weeny drainer. This thing is perfect. And cheap. And sturdy (once you get the hang of it).My blood pressure has returned to normal and I have icy wine to drink and smug staring to do. Good luck, brave assemblers. You can do this. I believe in you.

Come face-to-face with your own inadequacy as a human
I really recommend this shelving unit for people who need to be humbled. Putting this together will make you cry with frustration as you desperately lift and then lower the shelves onto the plastic puzzle pieces that ostensibly hold them up. Will the plastic things stay in place, holding the shelf, or will they fall to the floor, forcing you to start all over? Will they stay in place, but leave you with a shelf that is not level? Will you be forced to face that ever-so-slightly off-kilter shelf every time you want to make something in the microwave? This shelving unit is not just a shelving unit. It is an exercise that will build character. You will confront your need for perfection and learn to live with "good enough."

It is NOT hard to assemble!! 30 min from box to fully loaded!
I am befuddled at the reviews that speak of unending frustration. This was easy-peasy to put together. 30 mins, tops! The most time-consuming part was deciding how far apart we wanted our shelves. To all of the reviewers who had trouble with assembly, I offer you this insight:1. The plastic pieces are NOT SUPPOSED TO clip together around the pole.2. The shelves are NOT SUPPOSED TO merely rest “on top of” the plastic pieces, but slide over them like a sheath.3. The plastic pieces are labeled to indicate TOP, and if you don’t follow that directive, you’ll never get this unit assembled. The plastic pieces rest in the grooves of the pole and when you have them in place, you simply slide the shelves over top of them. The plastic pieces will then compress together and be snug inside the collars on each shelf. After reading the negative reviews, and then seeing how easily this went together, I am certain that some reviewers simply didn’t know how this was supposed to be assembled. We liked the first one so much, we bought a second. I decided to time it this time. One person, from box to completely built, less than 18 minutes. That includes unwrapping pieces and opening bags, etc.Don’t be scared of this because some folks misunderstood how to put it together. You can assemble this easily!! By yourself. Less than 30 mins.

This SHOULD be a 5-star item, but Amazon went cheap on a critical part
Where to begin. A nice, heavy box arrives, open it to find sturdy metal shelves and poles, and instructions that are simple and easy to follow. Everything to this point is quality, worthy of a 5 star review. Until you start to assemble the unit, using the extremely thin, cheap plastic collars that are supposed to snap together and which the metal shelves rest upon. First of all, they will NOT snap together, they will just kind of vaguely meet. This will insure that EVERY time you try to put a shelf on that at least half of them will pop off, forcing you to try and get them all connected, which will fail again and again. Finally you will get them all together, get the shelves on them and think that you are home free. Oh, silly person. Once you start loading those shelves at least one, and probably two of them will...surprise!...have the cheap plastic collars again fly off, but this time with the stuff on the shelves slipping and sliding off. And here's the funny part -- those little, thin pieces of plastic are what holds up every shelf, and are supposed to support hundreds of pounds of weight. Let that sink in. Thin plastic that doesn't lock together supporting hundreds of pounds. WHY would Amazon go cheap on the one aspect of this shelf that NEEDS to be sturdy? Everything else is metal -- it would have not cost much more to make locking metal collars that would actually stay where they are supposed to be and support the weight required. IF they had done that, this would be a sturdy unit and rank 5-stars for material and quality. As it is, while it is currently together, I have low expectations it will stay that way, and am only storing extremely light, unbreakable things on the top two shelves -- pretty much the exact opposite of what I bought it for! I will be looking into other ways to stabilize these shelves, at which point it will serve the purpose intended - just at a higher cost and far more trouble than I wanted when I ordered it. Amazon, you could have a very high quality product here...instead, you put your name on something pretty worthless and should fix this fast!

Quality shelves that make the building hassle worthwhile.
As with other reviewers of these shelves I would say I also struggled to work out the clips and how the shelves sat on them. Additionally, I'm a little ashamed to admit that after around 20 minutes of messing around I very almost threw it all back in the box and returned it. However, I'm glad I didn't and I persevered because once I got one clip right, I did the rest in 5 or so minutes. I have removed one star from the rating solely because of the build frustration. The shelves are of a very nice quality and look great. They are sturdy and seem to be holding quite heavy items without any issue.I have put mine outside in a sentry shed and have attached a photo with the shelves half full just so possible buyers can see how tall they stand and how wide they are. Please excuse the skirting being stored next to them.Overall I would recommend these to anyone, but I would offer the warning that its best to attempt to put them together when you're in a 'good mood'.
