Lasica V8 SV10 Replacement Battery Compatible with Dyson V8 Animal Absolute

When the original battery on my Dyson V8 began to degrade to the point where it needed replacement, I first checked the manufacturer’s website to see what an OEM battery would cost. Before ordering, my brother suggested I take a look at this replacement battery since he had recently purchased one for his own Dyson V8 and had been very satisfied with the performance. The installation process was simple and quick. After removing three screws, I was able to access and remove the original battery. The new battery slid into place easily, and once the screws were reinstalled the vacuum was ready to go again. The entire process took less than five minutes. One helpful tip is to make sure the battery is properly seated when reinstalling the screws—if it’s not aligned correctly the screws won’t thread in easily, so it’s best not to force them. Once installed, the replacement battery looks nearly identical to the original OEM battery, and the color matches the vacuum perfectly, which helps maintain the overall look of the unit. In terms of performance, I was pleasantly surprised. This battery has a slightly larger capacity than the original, and even when using the vacuum on the Max setting I’m seeing noticeably longer runtime—roughly about 30% more than what I experienced when the vacuum was new. I also didn’t notice the battery running any warmer than the original pack despite the extended run time. Overall, this replacement battery has been an excellent and cost-effective way to extend the life of my Dyson V8. It installs easily, looks great, and delivers impressive runtime. If you’re looking for a reliable and more affordable alternative to the OEM battery, this is a very solid option that I would happily recommend.

UPDATE June 2023: Original purchase was Oct 2021. The first Lasica replacement battery finally died after 20 months in June 2023 and I purchased another - if I get 20 months out of the new one I will view it as $35 very well spent. UPDATE: 8 months later (June 2022), still very satisfied with this purchase - no complaints. My Dyson V7 began running just a bit over a minute before shutting down - it originally ran for as long as needed, maybe 15 to 20 minutes - this vac is used for light cleaning in between pulling out the Miele. I tried some things I saw online including a thorough cleaning but to no avail. I decided to try this Lasica battery/filter combo due to the price and reviews, ~$35 vs >$95 for a dyson genuine battery. After several weeks I can say it is better than expected - it is back to original performance - I will update this once enough time has gone by to test battery performance longevity. The battery fits well on the machine, but two things: The charging port on this battery is slightly tighter when plugging/unplugging than the original battery but seems to be getting better with use. See attached pic. A Dyson original filter is on the left - one that came with this on the right. You will notice the difference in air passage hole sizes - the aftermarket filter has smaller holes but there are more of them so it probably averages out. I have the other aftermarket filter installed and it fits like OEM.

Our Dyson V8 stopped charging when turned 2-1/2 yr old. We debated if getting another model, i.e. V11, as V8 has poor battery record. Money talked, we decided to go with a replacement battery. We did some research and opted to go with Lasica vs a Dyson OEM that costs 3 times. The delivery was very timely, received in 2 days. Installation was super easy. 3 screws, that's it. It took a while to charge fully, probably due to a new battery. We put it in use and the vacuum is good as new. Not sure how long this battery will last. Will come back for update later. So far, we're happy with Lasica.

I was hoping a replacement battery would give my Dyson V8 Animal new life, but it performs pretty much the same as my original battery from 2019. On max suction, it dies in under 3 minutes, and on regular mode, I get maybe 10 minutes total. Glad it worked out for everyone else—maybe I just got a dud—but it’s just not holding a charge like I needed it to.

I read a lot of reviews from lots of battery replacement options, and most complaints were about longevity and charging. I’ve now had this for a few months and use it fairly frequently, and it’s definitely working well. No excessive heat, definitely longer run times than the OEM battery (that was getting old), same form factor (so the charging rack works fine, like before), and what I used to have to do (stop vacuuming because the original battery lost charge) and charge it to finish my first floor and stairs I now can do on a single charge. I haven’t run the original and timed it vs this one, but I do know it’s a big improvement. Research your model and make sure it’s the right one - I did that research as well. Mine is an older white SV-07 and this is a perfect fit. And so far, working well with no noticeable reduction in battery endurance.
