My plants are healthier
I bought 10 of these for my indoor and outdoor potted plants. My plants are already healthier. The database is excellent, I have some rare tropical plants and they were in the database. It reminds me daily when I need to water, fertilize, etc. I also discovered one corner of my house was too dark for the particular plant species so I swapped it with another that needs a little less light.I was disappointed in 2 areas1-there is no android app. I have a Samsung galaxy phone so I cant use it. I have to use our ipad2-after about a week the software stops synching with the devices. I wrote to customer support and they told me to reboot (power off and on) my ipad. That worked. But I have to do it every week or so. I had the same problem on all of the devices in our household: 2 ipads, 1 iphone, and all 4 of the sensors stop synching, so I don't think this is just me. However the reboot works every time so I can manageUPDATE: May 1They updated the app 2 days ago and I lost all my graph data. In addition, now I cannot upload data. I see from the app store reviews I am not alone. I am really disappointed as this product seems to be deteriorating not improving. What a hassleUPDATE: May 9After a week, tech support got back to me. They did not even read my email, they spotted the word "iPad" and replied with one sentence: "the app is not available for iPad". Of course that is not my question, I am using the iPhone app on my iPad, my issue is after the latest app upgrade I am having trouble synching with my 10 Flower Power devices and lost all my historical dataConclusion .. nice idea .. useful when it works .. but very unreliable and quite a hassle to keep it working consistently .. tech support very poor .. I don't have a lot of time/patience so I am going to sell mine

Flower POWER
What do you get someone who loves gadgets and gardening? The Parrot Flower Power of course! I bought 2 of these as gifts for Christmas this past year. I was a little hesitant as it's such a new product and I couldn't find a lot on the net regarding how well the Flower Power actually works. After setting the Flower Power up with the people I gifted them to, this is what I can say:Pros:-EASY set up (battery installation, app download, bluetooth sync is all a breeze)-The companion app (free) for android or iphone is very intuitive-The plant database that is included with the app is UNBELIEVABLY comprehensive. It has every plant/tree/shrub you could possibly imagine and it tells you exactly how to carefor all of them-It's very easy to follow light intensity, hydration, fertilization, and temperature trendsCons-It takes 24 hrs. for the Flower Power to fully diagnose a plant after you place itAll in all, I couldn't be happier with this device. Whether or not you're looking to get one for yourself or for a friend, I would highly recommend it!

Take some of these reviews with a grain of salt.
Many of the negative reviews of this product result from a lack of patience. Somethings take time, including learning how to operate this sophisticated product. It has a few glitches, but the construction and concept are sound, as is the execution with a few exceptions. I am very optimistic that the software "problems" will be ironed out. Yes, it is not as refined as I would like, but still impressive.Your data can now be accessed on their website, so that puts the data into your computer where it is easier to study.Yes, some of the operations take time at first. But after the first 24 hour period things pick up considerably. Most readings are instant. The expert gardener's complaints make sense though why should a computer know that you have put your plant behind another plant?I suspect if you stick with it, you will be happy. Good way to learn. You don't have to put one in every plant to better understand how to cultivate all of your plants.

Does what it is supposed to do, most of the time.
I have 9 of these things. 6 are doing what they should. 3 are more temperamental and will not always connect or measure the soil moisture correctly. Other than that they do exactly as promised through a decent app. Note that the app has recently been updated and it now addresses some of the requests raised in this forum (among others) for more detailed guidance on fertiliser. The guidance is still very general and you still need a proper gardener to tell you exactly what you need, but it does show that the manufacturer listens to its customers, which is good.Less good was when I contacted Parrot customer support about the issue with the connectivity they told me to get lost and deal with Amazon, which was not so impressive. 50$ is quite expensive though.
