Dried Oyster Mushrooms, 1 Pound Box

These are excellent quality dried mushrooms. They rehydrate in hot water (no need to use boiling hot water) in no time at all. Being dried, they of course are not the same taste or texture as fresh oyster mushrooms, but they are great - just different. Just like a dried fruit isn't the same as a fresh one, just different. I found no dirt, pebbles or sticks in them. Some of the other mushrooms from this vendor have rocks and twigs in them - not these.

They are good but you have to know what to cook them with

Mild flavor. Rehydrate in hot water with salt or soy sauce in 15 minutes. If used in soup or stew just toss in dry. Clean and packaged welk.

I've use dried mushrooms before from Costco and they always worked great in my cooking, but these mushrooms no matter how long they were hydrated and how thin I sliced them had hard grizzly parts. Edible yes with a lots and lots of chewing. So I'll look around first for fresh mushrooms.

I purchased 2lbs. Shipping was prompt and the packaging professional. Now to what is important, taste and texture is perfect, you can't go wrong with this. The mushrooms are very tender and meaty as they should be, none of the tough rubbery dehydrated types.Also, as another poster mentioned, one pound is a lot when purchased dried. Enjoy

I bought this one for myself. But it doesn't turn out good. So I through it away ASAP. It smells different from this type of mushroom usually is! Won't recommend it to anyone!

Absolutely delicious! I hydrated these kept the broth for soups and used the mushroom as a steak alternative. They were wonderful!
