I used to use Nathan Sports Wash (liquid detergent) for years to hand-wash my gym/bike wears to keep the stink off of them, but for some reason the detergent is no longer available, and this Active Wear item came up in search results, so I decided to give it a try. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS POWDER DETERGENT, NOT LIQUID. I also realized that this one doesn't lather as much as Nathan or other common detergents. In fact it doesn't lather much at all, which was *initially* a turn-off. But after a few tries, I realized (1) powder vs. liquid isn't really an issue at all :-), (2) it does work just as well (if not possibly better) in keeping the stink off, and (3) the fact it doesn't lather actually helped when I run a washer cycle with this (as Nathan Power Wash probably lathered too much in the drum and often left some soapy residue after the spin). So I'm glad I gave this product a chance. It comes with so much volume that I haven't still finished my first bag after 8 months (and I work out 3-4 times a week), but I'll be sure to buy it again when it runs out.

Regular detergent was leaving my gym clothes and running gear smelling sour again within an hour of putting them on, even right out of the wash. This detergent actually solved it — no more trapped sweat smell in my technical fabrics, even after tough workouts. It's clearly formulated to cut through the odor-causing buildup that regular detergents just mask, and it rinses completely clean without leaving residue that clogs performance fabric (which I think was part of the problem before). No overpowering fragrance either, just genuinely clean-smelling clothes. Safe on all my moisture-wicking gear, no fading or breakdown of the fabric's stretch. This is the only detergent I'll use for activewear now — total game changer for anyone who works out regularly.

This actually works really well. I've used several times for my husband's workout clothing and there is no remaining musty order. Keeps the clothing smelling nicely and removes any stains. Very mild on the skin. I'm very happy with this product. Will definitely order again.

I am a daily gym rat and sweat a lot. Have the same few shorts and handful of shirts I use as my regular gym attire. No matte what I tried, my gym cloths had a perma-stink. During and after workout, sometimes the smell of ammonia, bad underarm skunk, and just overall funk. It was embarrassing. I'd double wash my clothes, use baking soda with detergent. deodorant on the t-shirts themselves. Tried everything from soaking them in vinegar and detergent and water for half a day and then washing them. This would last a few times, but that old smell would creep back in. As soon as body heat started warming up the shirt... I was obviously skeptical. But tried it. After the first wash with only one scoop of this, the next day was significantly noticeable. The clothes didn't stink. Were they perfect? No, but 80% better. After the next wash was 90%. I think if you use this regularly, and use like 1.5 x 2 x the recommended amount, then this by far is the best solution compared to all others. I definitely recommend it. I gave it 4 tars instead of 5 because after a week of using, There are still a couple of shirts that have not been fully removed of smell. We'll see if continued use with larger scoops helps

Finally—a clean laundry detergent that actually works on serious workout odors! I have three very active teenage athletes, and their clothes can get pretty rough after workouts. I’ve tried other clean detergents that left behind that lingering sweaty smell, but this one completely surprised me. Their clothes come out fresh and clean without that leftover odor. I’m sold!

It really works for your workout attire. It gets rid of stains and odors without disturbing the fabric. It also dissolves easily so there is no leftover powder on your garmet.

Works amazing! Night sweats had me ready to toss my bedsheets. They smelled even after washing, so I decided to give this a try. Used 2 scoops and they came out smelling so clean, not even a remnant of odor. This will be a staple in my house from now on.

I have 2 boys in high school baseball. In addition to practice they also workout 5 days a week. Their clothes come home smelling awful. Even after several washes the smell lingers. Ever since buying this detergent it’s been much better. I still run on a heavy duty cycle but the detergent does what others could not. And it’s done it without causing any reactions to my son’s skin. I highly recommend.

I’m a spin instructor and my activewear takes a beating. Some of these items are years old, and some new. I’ve tried every other soaking recommendation you can think of, and this is the first time they’ve come out without a smell. I did a second soak on a few stubborn items, but it did the trick. Highly recommend!

Good stuff! I sweat through many shirts working or outdoor activities in the hot summer. Some of those just never seem to smell clean after a while. This product has consistently done a good job cleaning and eliminating the musty smell. I’d buy it again.

I bought this specifically for a problem I was having with my well used lulu sets. I work out in an infrared sauna and get absolutely drenched, and some of my sets had reached the point where they smelled perfectly clean out of the wash, but the second I started sweating in them again, that old trapped-sweat smell would come back. Before buying this, I tried soaking my activewear with vinegar and warm water without much success. I was skeptical that a detergent would actually make a difference, but this one does. I do get much better results when I use it as a soak rather than just adding it to a normal wash. I usually put my workout clothes in a bucket of warmish water with about two scoops, agitate everything occasionally, and sometimes leave it for the day (mostly I forget). Then I wring everything out and put it through a regular wash cycle. Using it this way has made a noticeable difference and has helped me get more life out of workout sets that I really don’t want to replace at $100+ each. I’ve also used it on other things that tend to hold onto sweaty odours, including shoe insoles after the summer, with good results. I wouldn’t call it a miracle product. Washing with it isn’t as effective as a proper soak, and I’m still figuring out whether the results remain as noticeable. But compared to the other things I tried, this has worked considerably better. I’d much rather periodically deep-clean the activewear I already own than replace otherwise perfectly good clothing because it holds onto odour. I’ll keep using it for that reason! I’ve learned the hard way that synthetic activewear can really hold onto smells, so when I eventually replace these sets, I’ll probably look for more natural-fibre options to get better results.
