Reolink 4K Indoor Camera with 3X Optical Zoom, Dog/Pet Cameras, E1 Zoom

High quality camera, simple fitting and setup, display is crystal clear (just make sure you change it to clear view on the app). Well worth the money, great in light and dark, picks up motion and seems like very effective indoor security.

I've had several brands of IP cam in the past, each one with its own issues such as poor build quality, horrific setup and poor support. I've always managed to get them working but I pitied anyone going through the same experience if they didn't have a background in IT. Now the Reolink E1 Zoom. Must haves for me were good image quality, email and FTP support, and no sneaky tie-in to subscription services. Oh and easy remote access. It ticks all those boxes. I have had to contact support to discuss HTTPS browser niggles but they were responsive and I feel assured if anything more serious needs discussing they are there to help, which is more than can be said for some of the cams I've had in the past where support has been non-existent, even if you use the documented routes. For some reason 1 of my cams put up a small fight during initial setup, but that was sorted with a little perseverance. On top of the features I really needed, other details are handy and easy to configure. I've seen comments about poor picture quality but that's not what I have experienced. There are options to calibrate and focus, as well as image quality settings via browser or app (Windows or iOS) I've not even bothered with night mode and IR as I am getting decent colour images at night in daytime mode. Main use is via internal positioning to monitor car and driveway, and it's all good. I'm now making more use of tracking function and it seems pretty decent too. In terms of design it is a tidy unit, and doesn't even have an ugly Wi-Fi antenna as my previous cams have had, so it's a single cable install for power only. Only disappointment is that unlike other Reolink cams, there is no power extension cable available, and whilst the standard cable is decent length it would be good if they sorted that out. I've not made use of audio functions so can't comment on that, but all in all I am pleased, so much so, that I bought another.

The camera was very easy to set up out of the box, with the app, even if it was extremely loud in shouting out setup instructions, in various languages before I could get logged in and get it to shut up. Don't try and set this up initially near a sleeping baby (or anyone else that is sleeping for that matter). I wanted to set this up with for directly accessing with RTSP streams on Linux/open source tooling and my heart initially sank with reading initial online documents suggesting this was not possible. Luckily it is absolutely possible, but I had to do a lot of manual playing around before I could get it to work. I will have to write a tutorial/blog post on doing this, but I'm sure that even if I do, the APP interface will likely have changed again, rendering my instructions out of date. Just know that at the current time, you can enable HTTP/HTTPS/RTMP/ONVIF, and then you can acccess it through your web browser or ONVIF client. I found that I had to reboot it after having enabled these, for these to become accessible. It is also good to look up the IP address from directly within the app, and use that for your browser. Somehow I was getting it wrong with my nmap scans but that may just be user error. The optical zoom is dead useful, but less than I had thought it would be. I was disappointed that it did not have a traditional thread-screw on the bottom so I could use some of the mounts I have around the house. In the end, I ordered some reolink-specific mounts off of amazon, and will then screw those into some wood to get the desired effect. I find that I need the mounts, in order to be able to tilt the camera down enough. The pan/tilt covers most angles well, but it does not want to face down much, which is exactly what I need for looking down on the baby in his cot. In the meantime, I just put a thin instruction booklet/leaflet under one side of the base to tilt it enough for what I need. Overall a great camera that is "open" enough for what I need. It would be great if it had a base screw to easily mount it, if it was a bit cheaper, and if the optical zoom zoomed in a little more, but you can't have everything.

Needed a decent camera to use as our baby monitor which we were watching via our phones and iPad I have tried eight or nine different cameras all of them claiming to be 1080p but in reality nothing like that when you actually set them up. If ever you tried to zoom in instantly you would see the blockiness and couldn’t really see the picture properly. Finally found this one with three times optical zoom and boy does that make a difference the picture without the zoom is a markable improvement on the other cameras we have tried including the ring indoor camera which I expected to be very good but it really wasn’t. With this camera having the added three times optical zoom feature I was really hoping that the picture quality zoomed in would be just as good And it didn’t let me down at all even fully sending the picture is still an amazing 1080p full HD allowing you to even examine your screen digitally picture still looking amazing. The build quality of the camera and the app that you use are both excellent & simple to set up. Certainly won’t be returning this camera as there are no other cameras on the market that do an optical zoom For anything like this price. This really is one amazing bit of kit and at an in believable price

This product launch was hyped with a future release date with all the high end features. It is worse than the other alternatives available for less than half price. To start with, it does not connect to the wifi via the app when you configure. No matter how much I tried it kept failing taking me back to try again screen. I finally had to connect the camera to the router using ethernet cable and then configure the wifi. It's inbuilt wifi seems to be of extremely poor quality. Even though its in the same room as the wifi router the connection drops significantly unless its kept next to router. If I move it slightly away it looses connectivity, both on 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz. It takes a while to load the video stream on the app owing to the wifi connectivity issues. The video or the photo seems stretched and the clarity is extremely poor, definitely not 5MP quality and clarity. The 3x optical zoom is rubbish, seems more like digital zoom. The camera tilt angle towards floor is very less and won't go beyond certain angle limiting its coverage, it turns reasonably towards the ceiling and back though. The horizontal rotation is good but the 2 antennas do come in way of the lens in certain positions. The alert is a bit of shame, as in other reolink cameras, as it sends alerts detecting change in light or picture and not motion. You end up getting lots of useless alerts and finally turning it off! The build quality is poor for price, made of cheap plastic and light, unlike the dome and bullet ones which are in aluminium casing. The overall look is good. I would like to warn the potential buyers of reolink cameras about the "warranty" from reolink. I had water damage in one of outdoor bullet cameras after a year of use. Since they discontinued the model I have they asked me choose another camera from the ones available. I selected the next available model. I was asked to pay extra $30 via pay pal as price difference for a different model and also arrange for damaged camera to be returned to them at my own expense. Only then the replacement will be dispatched. Or I choose a much lower spec camera, which is no where close to what I have. I have refused to do this. If I am paying £100+ for a camera I expect it to last few years and not just over a year. And why do I have to pay for a faulty product return. They have refused to replace this even after a number of conversations and are now saying if I buy a new product they will do me a special discount of 30% instead of replacing the faulty camera. They have thrown their T&Cs at me which are no way in favor of customer and something which I was never made aware of when buying the product. A big let down.

Excellence quality camera easy to use it does what it says on the box that good we purchased a second recommended.

In fact, this is the worst Reolink camera I've used to date. There is a seriously bad fish eye effect on the image particularly on the left had side. I've never experienced that before on a Reolink cam. All of the available resolutions are skewed towards a taller image rather than a widescreen format which gives large blank bars at each side of the image when viewed on the desktop application. All other camera are pretty much in a widescreen format but the image on this one is almost square. Motion detection is the same as all Reolink cameras are. i.e Not very intelligent and only really useful indoors in a totally static environment because grass blowing, sunlight casting shadows or even transparent smoke passing a window registers as movement. There are no fancy pet/face/human detection tricks going on in this camera. Because of this, you will likely just turn off the push notifications informing you of movement due to the huge number of false alarms rendering the feature frustratingly useless. Now either I have a faulty unit or the firmware on this device has some incompatibilities with certain wireless routers. The only way I could use wireless with my Draytek 2860 router was to disable all security and have my WiFi as an open network which of course is not at all recommended unless you want your neighbours freeloading on your bandwidth. Connecting to my phone hot-spot worked with security so I'm leaning towards an incompatibility. Also note that although the camera is a welcome white colour (all previous Reolink indoor cams were black), the power cable is still black so be aware of that if you are using it wall mounted and wanted it to be as discreet as possible. The OSD isn't very readable on light backgrounds. Previous cameras had the option to show a dark overlay to produce more contrast but this one only shadows the text which would be fine if the shadowed area was a little larger. As it is, it produces more of an embossed effect rather than a useful contrast area. Zoom is quite good but auto focus is slow to react and cancels itself if you then pan the camera before it has finished focusing. The config page for the camera is accessible over a local network using a browser but beware that it uses the extremely outdated Flash plugin for camera preview. This really needs updating to HTML5 video. I couldn't actually get the Flash plugin to display video in my Chrome browser even though I allowed the plugin to run. The camera works seamlessly with the Reolink NVR which detected the new camera on the network and set itself up accordingly. You should only need to go into the NVR settings to enter the password once you have set one up in the camera settings. On that note, the NVR seems to have a bug when using its UI via a HDMI connection whereby if you enter a password then press the on screen "Enter" button the close the on screen keyboard, the password is not recognised. You have to work counter intuitively and close the keyboard by clicking back into the input box before you try to accept the entered password. I suspect that pressing the Enter button is actually entering an invisible CHR13 and including it as part of your entered password. The Android app is quite stable and no issues are evident in its use. The IOS app on the other hand is frustrating to use. It looks identical to the Android one but the stability of the connection to the NVR is shocking. I had to keep shutting the app down completely and restarting it as it the image just kept freezing. The Windows application works quite well but has some usability issues and also suffers from stability problems. Even switching between Live and Playback mode would sometimes cause it to just disappear. No error message or anything. It just vanished as though it had never been opened. All in all, not a great camera but not ridiculously bad. Firmware updates will hopefully cure some of the points I mentioned in time.

Really good zoom feature so if you need to focus a place a distance this would be your best camera for the price.

J'ai acheté 3 caméras pour la surveillance de l'intérieur du domicile de ma mère âgée de 91 ans et seule chez elle. Avec réolink on peut installer plusieurs caméras et les piloter depuis son iphone X ou iphone 6 ou tablette sans problème. La définition est de très grande qualité en 5mp, zoom, netteté, ajout d'une carte SDSH 125mo, qualité de l'écoute etc etc aucun problème. Très bonne qualité de l'image aussi en mode nocturne, en noir et blanc mais suffisant pour voir une personne dormir, ou voir ses déplacements. Ces caméras fonctionnent avec une live box 4 d'orange. il est difficile parfois de se connecter mais cela est du au routeur et non pas à la qualité de la caméra. ( Pas abonnement supplémentaire nécessaire). Mes sœurs actuellement en Pologne ont pu se connecter sans aucune difficulté depuis un réseau wifi. Je viens d'ajouter une quatrième caméra et j'ai envoyé le QR code à mes sœurs en Pologne. Elles ont pu ajouter la quatrième caméra sans problème. La configuration est hyper simple, même pour un novice en informatique. On installe l'application Réolink en recherchant l'appli sur le net, ou directement en scannant le QR code d'installation. Ouvrir l'application, scanner le QR code sous la caméra, entrer toutes les informations demandées, nom de la live box, le mot de passe de la live box, puis faire lire à la caméra de QR code que l'on à scanné avec le téléphone. Poursuivre les instructions et la caméra se connecte à la live box sans problème. ( Toute les explications pour ces caméras son en FRANCAIS. Caméra très légère avec un fil d'alimentation de bonne longueur. Je recommande cet article. J'avais une certaine appréhension pour une installation que je pensais hyper compliquée, en anglais, avec des adresse IP, des numéros de port etc, mais non, j'ai été surpris très agréablement.

Una cámara muy buena. El zoom se agradece. La app es la que más me gusta. En mi opinión, mejor que las Tappo. Funciona perfecta con Home Assistant en local y una cosa que me gusta, a diferencia de la Tappo C320ws, es que cuando conectas a la cam con la app, no se va la conexión desde Home Assistant. La única pega es que la calidad se paga.

This is just the perfect price/quality indoor camera. It has pan, tilt, zoom and a lot of cool features. It integrates with Home Assistant without effort. Mine is wired to a router so I'm not using the wifi functionality. The app is easy to install and takes care of everything. You can set alarm schedules and it has different alarm functions. Just what I was looking for, for my living room!

Buscaba una cámara que no necesitase un servicio cloud externo ni aplicación de móvil para poder usarla. Leí varias reviews que decian que la E1-Zoom no tiene puerto ethernet pero aún así me animé al ver una oferta. Menuda sorpresa al ver que en el modelo que he recibido SI que hay un puerto ethernet, así ya roza la perfección. El NVR integrado que tiene es bastante operativo dentro de las limitaciones de un ordenador pequeño como lo es la cámara. Ahora hablo de mi experiencia. Encendí la camara enchufada a mi red con un cable ethernet (no incluido). Ví en el router la nueva IP que apareció al encender la cámara y escribí la IP directamente en un navegador. Eso me llevó directamente al NVR integrado de la cámara tras un login (admin/contraseña vacía, luego configuras la tuya propia). Desde ahí se pueden configurar todos los parámetros de la cámara (incluida WIFI 5GHz) para visualizar, hacer grabaciones al saltar la alarma, volumen de la alarma, etc. Y ya está, no he necesitado el movil ni aplicaciones ni servidores externos para absolutamente nada. FELICIDADES ReoLink por hacer una cámara IP de verdad sin dependencias externas!!! Los que queráis usarla con el móvil e ir por ese camino supongo que vendrá explicado como hacerlo en el manual. Hace falta una microSD para grabación autónoma y envío a FTP remoto, no viene incluida, yo he puesto una de 64GB que tenía por ahí. Se pueden consultar todas la grabaciones que se han hecho al detectar movimiento, con sonido y todo. La cámara sigue al sujeto en movimiento y trata de encuadrarlo como puede. La resolución y calidad de imagen 2K es muy buena para el precio que tiene, y el hecho de tener zoom óptico de 3x es un plus aunque no es especialmente rápido en el enfoque. El hecho de tener un objetivo con una focal corta permite abarcar un angular de unos 140º, incluso cubre una habitación pequeña. Claro está que esto tiene un precio, la distorsión por ojo de pez, que no tiene mayor importancia ya que de ser necesario siempre se puede reconstruir con un programa, o ser directamente corregido en tiempo real por tu NVR. Los videos que te bajas de la cámara o envía por FTP van en MKV H264, perfecto. Es lento al bajarlos ya que tiene que recodificarlos de su formato RAW a MKV, eso siempre es trabajo pesado, y más para el pequeño ordenador de la cámara. Aún así lo hace. Si usas tu propio programa NVR en vez del interno de la cámara no importará ya que un PC puede comprimir el video de múltiples cámaras por hardware sin esfuerzo, con una gráfica nVidia por ejemplo. No queda ahí todo. Soporta RTMP, RTSP, ONVIF y https. No es mi caso, pero el que use la APP del movil para comunicarse con ella mediante servidores externos de prueba/pago he leido que funciona bien. Yo conecto la cámara al NAS mediante el protocolo ONVIF y RTSP y desde allí se hace todo el trabajo con un NVR software (iSpy/Agent) en una máquina virtual windows. Este software es gratuito para uso personal. La cámara se reconoce perfectamente por varios programas y se usa de modo transparente gracias a su compatibilidad ONVIF. Fue muy fácil configurarla en este y varios programas más. Si no quereis montaros vuestro propio NVR, la cámara también puede enviar por FTP las grabaciones por movimiento o programadas a vuestro servidor si quereis tener un archivo fuera de vuestra red. Es una funcionalidad que llevo años buscando en una cámara. Tuve una hace 15 años que lo hacía y las últimas que compré todas funcionaban con servicios externos (cosa que odio). Este modelo es totalmente autónomo, no necesita nada externo para funcionar y puedes configurarla desde cualquier sitio con un navegador HTML5 si abres los puertos adecuados en tu router o accedes a tu red remotamente. Es una maravilla de aparato si te sientes confortable administrando redes, poniendo un servidor FTP, usando un NAS y cosas por el estilo. Quiero decir que sabiendo un poco se le puede sacar a esta cámara su peso en oro. Adjunta un kit para atornillarla al techo o una pared, y un alimentador de 5V/2A con conector de tipo mini-jack de 2.5mm (siempre te puedes hacer un adaptador con un cable USB viejo), un manual que para variar ni he abierto y unas pegatinas para avisar al personal de que se está grabando todo. La operación es silenciosa y el plástico de la cámara se nota de calidad, tiene el aspecto típico de una cámara normal que no da ningún indicio de lo especial que realmente es, salvo quizá que pesa un poco más que otros modelos. La cámara graba continuamente de modo interno con un desfase de unos 5 segundos para poder incluir esos 5 valiosos segundos anteriores al inicio de la detección de movimiento en el vídeo capturado. No vale para usar como webcam dados esos segundos de desfase, aunque se puede integrar sin problema alguno en OBS por poner un ejemplo. La calidad de imagen es bastante buena incluso con los infrarrojos, y el sonido es mejor y bastante más sonoro que la media. La sirena de la alarma a volumen máximo resulta bastante molesta y estridente a varios metros. Los que uséis un NVR propio en un NAS o un PC estaréis encantados con esta cámara, los que uséis el NVR interno de la cámara podréis realizar una vigilancia y consulta de video y fotos adecuada sin depender de servidores externos. Los que uséis la APP del móvil no sé decir porque ni lo he probado, yo me mando mis propias alertas y videos por telegram al móvil desde el NAS, así que no necesito ninguna APP del movil ni ningun servidor externo. Cuantos menos elementos externos, menos posibilidades hay de que falle algo que yo no pueda arreglar. En fin, la única pega que le iba a poner a esta cámara era que creía que no llevaba ethernet, pero al menos en el modelo que me han servido a mi si que lo incluye, así para mí es una cámara 10/10. No es la más barata pero tiene un precio excepcional para todo lo que ofrece. Recordarle a la gente que esto no es una webcam, es una cámara de vigilancia para los que necesitan y saben vigilar. Producto calidad/precio totalmente recomendado.
