Good value, Good quality just what you need for fine measurements

I've been meaning to get a pair of calipers for home DIY/projects for some time. I'm not planning to use them often — but when I need them, I really need them. I chose a set of purely mechanical calipers with Vernier (Nonius) scales rather than a digital pair, as I would not want to come back to them after several months only to find the battery was flat. I chose these Spurtar ones because they fit my requirements and are made of steel. So far, for a few measurements for projects at home, they seem very good and exactly what I need. There are scales in imperial (inch) measurements and metric (cm, mm). The sliding action is smooth (so far — no bits of grit etc have got in), and the scales (including the Vernier) are clear enough to read easily. They arrived in a blue plastic case, with instructions, a small cloth and a six-inch/15cm ruler (see attached picture). These are a bit more expensive than some similar items, but my impression of them so far is that they should be a "one and done" purchase. The only thing I'd note is that there is a fractional gap between the external calliper jaws when they are closed: they meet at the end, but there is a gap you can see in the attached picture. It is only about a hair's width, and makes no difference to the measurements at the tolerances I am working to, but if you are doing very precise machining or 3D printing, you'll want to be aware of this. For my purposes, highly recommended.

Love this tool. I bought a second one and may buy a third just so there's one in every tool box. You can just grab it and measure things so quickly and accurately enough for making 3d models to print. Probably not hyper accurate but I have a rarely used digital one if needed.

Absolutely impressed with this caliper! The accuracy of 0.02mm/0.001" makes it perfect for DIY projects, household tasks, and even light industrial use. I was very tired of the batteries constantly failing in my other one. This works well. I'm not a spring chicken so I do get my magnifying glass out to read the scale. I cannot vouch for the accuracy but it is accurate enough for my purpose.

It’s alright I guess. By all means I’m sure this will do what is expected of it. But it feels a bit “meh”. There’s slight play on the sliding part and due to the brushed steel finish the sliding motion of it feels very scratchy any cheap. The button on the bottom is infact not a button and serves no purpose other than to rest your thumb on it. The screw at the top locks it rather well but there is no gradual tightness, it’s either on or off. The measurement print is slightly fuzzy from the laser etching and appears a little faint. Overall it’s a useable product, but the feel of it is enough to annoy me. It goes without saying really, with Vernier callipers you need to spend a fair amount.

A good set of calipers, however, unlike more expensive units I have owned in the past, the small roller at the bottom of the sliding caliper, is not in fact a roller, just a fixed lump of metal. I would normally use the roller to make those fine adjustments. I can still just about do this without the roller, but I have to ask why did they make the lump resemble a roller? It is easy to see where savings have been made.

Functional and precise. It looks a little cheap, but the price is competitive.

精密な測定としてはわかりませんが、デスク横に置いてるととても便利です。 ネジ幅であったり、ちょっとしたものを測るときに重宝してます。 新品の時はバリがあり少し開閉がギシギシしてますが、少しだけコンパウンドかけたらヌルヌルです。 安物買いなのかわかりませんが、個人的にはコスパよくて満足してます。あと思ってるより重量感あります。

Great vernier calipers, but slightly stiff when sliding. I put some oil on it, and it seems to help. Really liked the machinist ruler and case included. Overall, a very helpful tool I use every day.
