Great for the dog
Works perfectly. It’s easy to get on and off. A great value for the price it was. I purchased one that’s a little too big, so I took a few links out of it. I’ll be able to use them when he gets a little bigger.

Herm Sprenger - two master level dog trainers tell me to use nothing else besides HS.
I returned this for a 2.25mm, but the quality of the Herm Sprenger brand is superior to every other brand, hands down. A 45 year dog trainer told me never get a prong collar besides HS - the rest are trash and can have sharp edges that can cut into your dog, they can have cheap coatings that contain nickel, and a LOT of dogs have allergies to nickel. You won't know it unless you keep a really close eye on your dogs neck, or you start to smell something and feel a wetness on the dogs neck. You won't have this issue with the HS collars. Side note - any e-collar you buy, spend the extra $12 and get a set of titanium coated probes/contacts for the same reason - dogs are not allergic to titanium. When my friend that has trained dogs for 45 years saw she told me to get the 3mm collar, she apologized and said I asked her about 2 days after she had foot surgery and she was on heavy pain medication, and told me I needed the 2.25mm collar. The 2.25mm is what you need for about 98% of the dogs out there. People gripe about prong collars, but I can manage my dog with minimal pressure, and the corrections are much easier as far as pressure. Why? Because dogs do not speak English, Russian, German, or any other human language. Dogs speak dog. Have you ever seen a mother deliver a correction to a puppy, or a dog deliver a correction to another dog when it isn't behaving correctly? It's a quick bite around the neck, and then it's done and over. The prong collar emulates the quick bite on the neck, so a prong collar is literally speaking to the dog in it's "mother" language. That's part of the reason dogs can learn so quickly with a prong collar - the understand what it means. I delivered a single corrective U-Turn on my dog, and it was sloppy because I thought I was on a 6' leash, but it was only 4', so my pop was more of a pull. Either way, my dog learned in that one sloppy correction that she should stay in heel position. Normally it takes 2-3 firm corrections, but I got lucky. A little clean up work and my dog was in a great heel position and paying attention to me with great focus, and loved that training session and every one since. She hears the prong collar and she runs up to me and sits, waiting for me to put the collar on so we can go train or walk. I still need to work on a nice heel while the distraction levels are a little higher than in my back yard, but that's just consistency and repetition. I go on walks through a big box store and get compliments all the time about how well my dog behaves. I just received a 2nd 2.25mm prong collar yesterday for our older dog. She's going to be a little tougher to train because she's older and has more time of bad habits under her belt.

WARNING: People seem to not research how to use it before buying. It's a good product.
Firstly, do not slip this over the dog's head! You could hurt the dog and won't get a correct fit. To properly put it on you pinch one of the links until it slides off of another one. Basically like tabs, you position it snugly right at the base of the school ensuring it won't slide around. It is supposed to go right under the base of the ears and along the dog's skull to the bottom of their jaw essentially. A lose prong collar can cause serious injuries. Now when properly used it is amazing at least from what I've seen. The only issues with it were some of the tabs were difficult to pinch to release a link. Making it hard to take off the dog. But most of the links were fairly easy so not a huge deal. The other personal problem is my 65 pound Australian shepherd with a 16" neck seems like he is in-between sizes. 3.0 gauge almost seems too much but Idk the manufacturer says that's perfect. He also has super thick fur making it hard to take off and put on sometimes. After tons of training he is an amazing dog and incredibly intelligent. His only downfall is his herding and controlling instinct. He feels the need to control anything moving and otherwise he only ever thinks about food. He would be 100 pounds off of just his regular dog food if he had his way. All that to say the only real solution that instantly stopped the bad behavior and let him focus on me, was this prong collar. I plan to use it more often as he needs it again, just for training his heel and so I can trust him. The easy lead or whatever it is called works, but is so easily broken and still doesn't have the same instant results this does. Not to mention my dog hated that product so much. He tolerates the prong collar at first and then acts like it's not even there a couple minutes later. Again I do feel like it is slightly too loose, but the results are still better than anything I could've hoped for.Just remember to learn how to properly use this TOOL safely and effectively. Also remember to use it to train your dog. It is an invaluable tool for teaching a dog that it is okay to trust and follow your lead. The very slight discomfort during this training is such a relief compared to the windpipe crushing leash pulling and constant stress levels he used to endure. Just try and make sure you get a real version and not a counterfeit.

Didn’t expect it to work as well as it did.
Bought this product based off of American Standard Dog Training videos. Within 2 days of walking my Husky she is starting to keep her eyes on me and stay with me on walks. 10/10 would recommend. Perfect training tool. My husky is 5 years old and is a typical very stubborn husky that constantly pushes the limits of getting away with things… or trying to. This works very well.Quality Review: Links feel very solid, not cheap flimsy as I expected. Also is a little tough to take off, kids who love to destroy things will have a very hard time taking it off and losing links.

instant change in dog's walking-behavior
I'd give 6 stars if I could. Our new rescue dog had almost no leash manners whatsoever with a Martingale collar or a harness, but within minutes of trying this collar, she was walking like a champ. The Herm Sprenger brand offers solid, heavy duty construction, removable links and a continuous design (without a buckle). The prongs are not sharp, but shaped perfectly to keep her focus, and the design tightens evenly around her entire neck so she's not choking or hurting her trachea, etc.
