Cheers to Linda Brossi Murphy!!
This book offers a very open and honest account of one woman's journey of how she deals with her battle with cancer. Whether you have been diagnosed with the disease, or know someone who is fighting the disease, this book will be beneficial for you to read. I have been fortunate to have very little cancer in my family. I have known a few people who have it, but I have been very sheltered to what it is really like go through the battle. It was a shock when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She rarely spoke about her treatment and I just thought, "Oh, it must be not be that bad." Linda Brossi Murphy opened my eyes to why my own mother didn't share much about her experience. She points out in this book how it is a difficult journey going through the treatment phases and all that it does to mess up your body and mind. But a cancer patient has the added burden of watching how it also affects the loved ones in their life, and how that pain is often more difficult to cope with than their own pain and suffering. Although this book is about a serious disease, I found myself laughing through it. She addresses issues with humor and an amazing positive attitude. I don't think I can look at Saran Wrap the same way now (sorry, you have to read the book to know why!!), but I certainly look at the battle a patient faces in a different way-and that is one reason why I believe this is a great book to read. One statement the author makes really sticks in my mind...she acknowledges how "lucky" she is in comparison to some other people who may not have the same level of support from her family and friends, not to mention access to good insurance and proximity to first-class medical facilities. Even in her personal battle, she still thinks of others and realizes it could be worse. She has a genuine positive attitude and her compassion toward others is evident. Its common to ask "Why me?" when faced with a difficult journey, and I don't think there is ever a good answer for that question. Anyone can learn from her example of a positive (and often humorous) approach to any obstacle. It is a great book with insight into the world of a cancer patient...and the lessons that can be derived from the journey.

I am so lucky to have many awesome women in my life
Bravo Linda! I am so lucky to have many awesome women in my life. One of which is my friend Linda. Not only has she been such a wonderful friend who I continue to soar thru life drinking wine with, but she showed so many of us such bravery during her F...g battle with her rare & aggressive form of F...g Cancer. She kept on smiling, laughing and her "Julie McCoy" attitude thru it all. Even during the times, we all knew, she was really not feeling so happy. God forbid one of us tried to ever back out of something, she would be calling with her playful ..."you get your ass there, I have f..g cancer and if I am going so are YOU -We would often joke with her saying...Linda, your cancer is killing us! LOL!" But truly she was amazing thru it all...and now she has written about her journey in her very first book - F..k Off Cancer. I got my copy last night and I am almost done! It is fantastic!! I encourage all of you to go to order your copy now...for anyone going thru their battle, needing a positive outlook on how to deal with not so great things in life or just want a glimpse into the world of Linda...it is worth it!! I encourage you all to support my friend and order your book today... Again...Bravo My Friend-I cant wait to celebrate with you and, of course, drink more wine! XOXOXOXXO

Proactivity…making a plan to handle the worst case scenario
A thorough and interesting account of this remarkable author’s diagnosis and treatment for aggressive breast cancer. Obviously, her personal style is to make lemonade (and a party) out of life’s lemons, and she did just that all through her journey. Not everyone would have the same reaction to a life-threatening illness, but this worked for her, and could work for others, too.Amid the “party” atmosphere of this book, this author intuitively took many steps that everyone with this diagnosis could and should consider using. Among them: Proactivity…making a plan to handle the worst case scenario, in case it proves needed. Choosing the treatment team and plan that seems most trust-worthy and comfortable. Advocating for oneself or finding an able advocate who can act on your behalf when necessary. And most importantly, seeking connection with family, friends, and professional caregivers who can actually support you physically and emotionally, regardless of “where you are with your cancer” on any given day.In addition the author writes frankly and openly about the effect of the treatment process on her physical and emotional being and the challenges it creates in her relationship with her husband and others. All in all, this very brave author presents her journey in an open and engaging (and at times very funny) way. A very worthy read. I give it 5 Stars!

Enjoyable Journey with Attitude
I enjoyed the candid stories and inspiration to do what I can to make her they this experience and make my own fun where I can. I have a very similar diagnosis and found the author’s insights useful. I may even copy the cookie brigade as people are always asking what they can do. I read this book in a few hours while healing from my double mastectomy. I was looking for a book just like this without too much heaviness or pedestal standing.
