JRK Sandy Soil Grass Seed Mix - 5 lbs

I bought the 5 pound bag last year and it did manage to grow grass in sandy soil. This spring I bought a 10 pound bag to recede just to get a decent lawn. I think the product does what it says it’ll do and is worth the price.

this blend worked great for me....up in 5 days.

Tilled the yard, got most of the weeds out, mixed a grass fertilizer and weed killer with grass, and we saw growth in a week. I watered 4 times a day for 6 weeks. After 6 weeks I mowed the lawn, the grass was about 4” at this point. I do need to reseed in the early fall, we had a huge rain storm the week I planted seeds and it pretty much puddled in the area out from under the tree, so it spread the seeds weird. Under the tree was fine. We debated doing sod or seed and after reading the other reviews about this grass seed, we went for it. The grass is soft, feels nice to sit on. So worth the money! Highly recommend!

We had our main waterline replaced over the summer which tore up our yard pretty good. Since our house is in an area of REALLY sandy soil, I figured I'd give this seed a try due to the pro-sand description. Wowsers! This stuff sprouted up quick! I did water regularly and covered it with straw so it was started off properly but even so, I've done that with other seed in better soil and it told me to shove off I doubt this stuff is going to give me a lush, Kentucky bluegrass level covering but it did sprout in really sandy soil and so far has stayed green many months later. I'm hoping the spring cycle will kick things into heavy growth and I'll get to see if it'll really make the yard respectable.
