I tried as well. The manufacturer is unresponsive. I would avoid buying these just for that reason alone.

No you can use any of your android or iOS device that has bluetooth to stream the music to the speakers, the speaker has built in bluetooth receiver and amp, all you need to do is plug in the waterproof power supply and pair your phone or ipad
