Very Disappointed… In Myself
When I first ordered the OSD Audio 5.25” Wireless Bluetooth Outdoor Patio Speakers (BTP525), I figured they’d be “good enough” for casual backyard listening. What I didn’t expect was how much I’d end up loving them — and how quickly I’d regret not going bigger. The first time I hooked them up, I was blown away. The Bluetooth signal stretched across my entire yard — easily 100 feet — without a single drop or crackle. The sound was crisp, full, and surprisingly powerful for a 5.25” speaker. I actually wandered around just to see if the music would cut out. It never did. Pro tip for iPhone users: make sure you go into Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Headphone Safety → Reduce Loud Sounds and turn that off. I didn’t realize my iPhone was holding back the volume until I switched it off. Once I did, the speakers really opened up. Setup was effortless. The included cables are long enough to give you plenty of flexibility, and the spring-loaded wire connectors feel sturdy and secure. Just press, insert, and you’re set. The power plug has a protective cover too, which gives me confidence they’ll handle the outdoors year after year. So why am I disappointed? Simple: I should have bought the OSD Audio 6.5” BTP650 instead. Don’t get me wrong — the BTP525s are fantastic. But I love them so much that I can’t help wishing I had gone with the larger 6.5” version for that extra depth and punch. If you’re deciding between the two sizes, take my advice: go with the BTP650. You’ll thank yourself every time you hit play.

Wow! Incredible quality and value!
I came into this with fairly low expectations. And wow did I set the bar too low! Out of the box these were super simple to setup and Bluetooth connected instantly. I was able to walk 100 feet away (direct sight) with no loss of sound quality. The speakers themselves are fairly heavy (about 10 pounds each) but appear to be made very well. The sound quality blew me away. I was scratching my head wondering if these were Bose? Not kidding. Time will tell if they hold up in the weather. I need to devise my strategy for mounting them.... But my initial impression is: Wow! Incredible quality and value!

Excellent Bluetooth Speakers, just one small issue...
This set of speakers sounds great out on my pool deck. It has decent volume - not blasting, mind you - but pleasant and full, even at its limit. It has enough to annoy the neighbors, if they don't like your taste in music. I've had no problem pairing them to several devices - that aspect has been a breeze. My only complaint with the BTP-650's is the lack of volume control I experience using my main device, a Motorola Droid Maxx running Android KitKat 4.4. This phone has worked flawlessly with every other bluetooth receiver with which I've paired it, and there have been many. For some reason these speakers will not respond to volume commands issued from the phone. This is an especially bad situation because they will only play at full volume, and these speakers do not have any volume hardware to offset the issue. It would really be a shame to get frustrated and feel the need to send these back because of possible software/bluetooth handshake problems. All these speakers would need is a simple volume knob and they would be five-star. I don't see them failing out-of-the-box for any other reason. I'm pretty much a techie nerd, so I've fought back experimenting with every volume control app I could ferret out. I've found one app (only one) that can get around the issue - and I wish I knew why this particular volume app works while all the others fail. It's beyond me. But at the end of the day I've sort of overcome the problem and I'm very happy with the rest of the convenience these speakers offer. No more dragging a boom box out with me every time I go out to the pool. All I need is my phone. The BTP-650's are very competitively priced for the quality provided. But if your main music player is an Android device - depending on your version and manufacturer, you should be aware that there is a potential issue. On a positive note, my LG G Pad running KitKat 4.4.2 and my wife's iPhone 4S work fine with these speakers. I'm sure most devices will. Pros: -Competitively priced -Quality sound -Decent volume -Convenient way to provide music on a patio or pool deck Cons: -No volume hardware, which makes them more susceptible if there are bluetooth compatibility issues -Not entirely compatible with every device

Nice stereo sound
I mounted them at the top corners of my 24’ front porch. The speaker wire that came with, just barely reached but they sound great.

These speakers are awesome!!
I was a bit hesitant when I ordered these because a few reviews said they were not very weather resistant. I can only speak for myself but these have more than proven themselves worthy. We have had rain for Weeks!! and have not had a single issue. The only time I covered them was when we had a hurricane warning that proved to be a bit of a dud for us. Other than that, they’ve been exposed to the elements without any problems. The sound quality is fantastic. I stream music to them using my phone paired with Bluetooth and they sound like I have a live band in my yard. Even at low volume, everything is crisp and clear. I don’t play my music very loud but the one time I accidentally maxed out my volume, there was no noticeable distortion. I was shocked! I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for good quality outside speakers.

Do not buy! Break quickly, no customer support or warranty! Stay away.
Do not buy. Not worth it and they do not last long. These speakers look nice and have a decent amount of heft to them, leading to the misperception that they are of good quality. One day after the Amazon return window one of the speakers starting crackling. I worked through product support with Amazon and the issue was not resolved. Amazon said that since the return window was closed I need to work with the manufacturer’s warranty. Amazon even gave me their number. I have called multiple times and can get no response from the company. The speaker set up is easy and straightforward. They even come with long cords, both power and speaker, that allow good placement. The mini amplifier is in the power cord and hard to conceal. It is small, and a bit cheap, which lets you know this system does not have much power and sound will suffer. For very low volume this system works, but it does not go very loud. Sound quality is subpar, but is okay for casual listening. Hanging the speakers is easy with the included brackets. The Bluetooth connection is a bit weak. There is no Bluetooth button, so to connect to another device you have to unplug the electrical cord and replug to reset the Bluetooth. It also takes too long for the actual connection to take place, leaving you wondering if it is going to work. The distance for Bluetooth is not very far without cut-outs. (About 20 feet.) The sound quality leaves much to be desired. Small portable Bluetooth speakers have much better sound (but don’t solve the stereo separation issue). The sound is mushy, easily distorted beyond medium volume, and just generally poor. We tried several genres of music (rock, pop, country, rap, etc.) and found that these speakers did not have a sound pattern that was good for any of them. The speakers now sit in my garage not working and the company silent in their ability to help with customer support or warranty. Buyer beware that you are buying a subpar product with no company support. **Update** Just threw them out in the trash. Would have been better off just burning a couple hundred bucks. A total waste. Can not give zero stars, but I would. Very disappointing.

Great Sound But Know What You Are Getting
I purchased the 6.5 inch version in black for my second floor covered and screened patio. They arrived quickly and packaged as new as expected. I mounted them horizontally up high above the screens between ceiling rafters. They are on the outward side facing into the patio to lower volume as heard by neighbors. They are pretty well protected from weather in this location. The Good: - These speakers sound great! - They are larger, heavier, and much more substantial than I expected. - The brackets are also quite beefy. - The power and speaker cables are all very long accommodating almost any typical installation. - The connection box covers on the speakers can be installed in any of 4 positions so can be mounted such that moisture cannot drip into them. The bad: - Though called outdoor speakers the power supply itself states it must be used in a dry location. You may need to install an enclosure for it and it is rather large like a laptop power supply. There is 2 feet at most of detachable power cord between the adapter and the a/c plug which further complicates locating and hiding the power supply. - The speaker cord is not marked for polarity in any way. For best sound the speakers must be in phase. I usually don't trust internal speaking wiring anyway even if the cord has polarity indicated by color or ribs. This site [...] has great test files that will make it obvious if your speakers are out of phase, as mine were on fist attempt. - The on/off switch is behind the speaker and under the removable connection box cover. This makes it very cumbersome at best and completely useless if the speakers are mounted high. You might as well leave them on all the time or make the plug accessible to unplug when you want them off. - Which brings me to my biggest complaint. The speakers lack any bluetooth security. No code required to pair. Any prankster near enough to see the speakers in bluetooth can, if the speakers are on and nobody is connected, connect and blast whatever they want through them. My fenced lot is large enough I don't think this will be a problem but if your neighbors are close... Final Comments: These speakers work great for my situation. Check the minuses above and determine if they are an issue for your intended use. I also do not think the weatherproofing is that great and would definitely not mount them outside exposed to the elements with rain water falling or blowing directly on them.

Good product for the price
Easy to set up and connect to BT, sound quality is so so but good enough for the price. Can install at semi outdoor as long as not under direct rain.

Sounds great
Tested them inside to make sure they worked, didn't sound so great. Installed them on the deck and there is a huge improvement in sound quality, and loud enough to be heard all over the yard. After several heavy rain storms, no issues.

I’m really happy with these.
I have these mounted outdoors in our hot tub area. It is out of the elements, but have used for over a year without issue. Now I have these an opposite ends of the hot tub room and the speaker wire wasn’t long enough, but that’s not the fault of The manufacture. I think it came with 10 or 12 feet, but I need it over 20. In the end, not a big deal and I’m really happy with the sound quality and the way it easily compares to my iPhone from music. It’s a great product, don’t hesitate to purchase.

Ok but not super!
Sound ok, not super but not bad... Very lound nose when you open the speakers. Anough to wake the neighborhood. You got to keep the cell phone right be side the speakers! No remote is also pretty desapointing...
