Preschool help
My little boy started preschool and when he realised he was being left without me the next 4 sessions were horrendous! I found this book and it was an instant changer! He loves the rhyme and story and definitely related to the llama instantly. He started repeating mama always comes back and this is what he says now when he, happily, goes into school. A message that has stayed with him. One of the more expensive books I've ever bought him but definitely been worth it.

Very cute and effective
This has been a really good tool in helping my son transition to nursery school (and out of our direct care of the first time!) I think the story is great because it doesn’t make nursery out to be the best place in the whole world where he must have fun and focuses on how he is feeling. Really love it and it has made a real difference.

A must have
My son loves it and the teacher reads for him every single day before starting the day. It calms him down. I simply love it! I bought another book school related and it was not a hit like this one.

Very enjoyable for young children
This is a great book for children who are about to start nursery. Lots of great illustrations for children to point out and describe.

Amazing book
My son cried frequently about starting school as didn’t want to be away for mummy! He didn’t cope very well at first school induction. I had read great reviews about this book! Got it and the transformation in my son was incredible. No more tears and went to school fine, took teachers hand and said bye mum! We were all in shock and the teacher even asked how we managed to change things around so quickly! It’s all down to this book! My son loves it as do I and easy to learn as now my son reads it to me! Would recommend to all parents whose kids are scared of starting school/nursery or just being separated from parents!

Excellent For Children
My child was very hesitant about starting school and I believe reading this book every so often in the months before he started really helped. its a lovely little storey and a great addition to the other Llama Llama books.

and it's just a really sweet book. Llama doesn't want to be involved in ...
This really helped my then three year old when she started nursery, she was already aware of Llama Llama from some other books we'd read in the series, and it's just a really sweet book. Llama doesn't want to be involved in reading books or playing with the other kids, has a bit of a cry, and the other kids wheedle him into playing with them and he ends up having a brilliant time and when Mama Llama comes back he's all excited to show her his fun school and what he did - I definitely think that it resounded with my little girl. And at the end I see that the author dedicated it to her first one to go to school, which i thought was really sweet!

Very helpful!
Bought this to read to our 2.5year old before he returned to nursery following lockdown. Read it a few times the night before, recited little parts on the drive and there were no tears on drop off! Something that was a regular occurrence pre covid!

Great Book
This was a good book. We enjoyed it. We've not yet read it to our granddaughter but anticipate that it will help as she prepares for her first day of school.

Great book for toddlers/children starting school
We got this book for my toddler (1.5 yrs old) who was starting daycare, as we wanted to introduce the idea of school and having to be separated from mama. Although he may not have understood the book fully at the beginning, he loved the rhyming and illustrations of various animals in the book. Overall, its a cute little book for toddlers and children, and my child now loves and asks for this book to be read regularly.

The only thing, which helped
This book worked like a magic. My little one started nursery and she was crying every day at the drop off. When the book arrived, we read it like 6 times. She was so compassionate with little llama and next day she was crying only a bit at home and from second day on, she didn’t cry anymore. She understood that mama always comes back! We still read the book when returning to nursery after long time at home, and it helps immediately. I recommend it to all my friends.

I wish I could give 10 stars!
This book was an absolute godsend for our family. My 2-year-old was struggling with separation anxiety and not settling well in preschool. I found this book on a Google search and decided to try it. After reading it just once his attitude toward school dramatically improved. With regular reading over several weeks, he finally settled into his school and was happy to go each day. The most important concepts this book taught him:1. It’s ok to feel sad and miss your Mama at school.2. When you feel sad, the teacher and other children will stay with you and help you through it.3. Mama ALWAYS comes back to get you.I’d give it 10 stars if I could! Highly recommended!
