Can REALLY improve your coffee experience
This product exists for a very niche consumer. Here's the set up -- you've gotten into the nerdier side of coffee but you're poor. I bought the cheapest Mr. Coffee burr grinder which is better than a blade grinder but still produces WAY too many fines for some brew methods. After getting a moka pot, my cup would start amazing but begin to get bitter and disgusting the closer that I got to the bottom, thanks to the sludge of fines that settle to the bottom. A nicer coffee grinder wouldn't have this problem but a a hand grinder with a nice burr set it out of my price range. After sifting the fines out of my grounds, even my least favorite coffee beans have become new and amazing flavor experiences once the shroud of bitterness from the fines was lifted. The product itself is exactly what it needs to be for the price range. It takes me several minutes of shaking and banging the sifter on the countertop to achieve my desired results. If you want to improve your cup of coffee without spending extravagant amounts of money on nicer equipment and you don't mind the arm exercise and a couple extra minutes of shaking your grounds, this is the product for you. Aside from pro-sumer products, with this sifter, time, and a little bit of effort on your part, you can GREATLY improve the flavor profile of your cup in the mornings. You can expect NO SLUDGE at the bottom and the flavors from the beans can really shine as they were meant to. Coffee that I once thought was sub-par now has amazing earthy, chocolatey, nutty notes. This is a great product for the price if you know what to expect.

Good Value for Money_A Little Messy But Worth the Effort
I would buy it again--that's the first thing. As with other reviews, it is best designed for 15-25 g, really only 1-2 cups. It does a good job; the fines are the consistency of talcum powder. Unlike others, I don't mind not knowing the sieve size. It's the taste that matters and that is improved. There is a slight but noticeable improvement in the taste of the coffee; somewhat smoother. I find that shaking it 'sideways' is best since it increases surface contact with the filter. As others have said be careful with the thin-walled inner filter--it looks delicate. The static generated by the shaking makes the fines stick to the inner surfaces. A gentle tap on the counter helps free up most of the powder but there is still an annoying amount that gets out to the counter, your hands, and the immediate surroundings. It is best to do as much over the sink as possible. A slightly larger version would be useful as long as it can still be shaken by one hand.

Very well made...mostly
I'm very impressed with the quality of this sieve. It separates out the very fine particles (think Turkish grind fine). I have noticed a definite improvement in the taste of my coffee by removing these fines. However, be aware it will also make your coffee taste weaker unless you add the beans to compensate for what you are removing. Some considerations:It's pretty small. I typically just brew 6 cups for myself and my spouse using 1.1 oz of beans. This fits just fine with plenty of room to shake. 2.2 oz of beans to do a whole pot probably won't fit well though (I haven't tried yet to be sure). I'm pretty sure most folks use more beans than I do as well. I generally lose 10% by weight to fines, whether I use my own burr grinder or commercially ground coffee by a local business. It takes time. This is a very fine sieve, and I end up shaking it for a few minutes to be satisfied I've gotten out enough fines. The fines stick to the sieve somewhat. I tap it pretty thoroughly on the counter to bang them down before opening, and then further tap the sieve inside and against the base, but invariably there ends up being some mess from coffee fines coming out.Overall: satisfied. It meets our needs.Update: This made it from May until November - just over 6 months. The welds holding the mesh to its ring top failed making it unusable. I asked the seller about warranty or buying just the filter and they said to bring it up with Amazon - and of course it is well outside the return window. So no support. I hate to replace it because the outer cup will last forever, so I'm going to see if I can spot weld the ring back on the mesh.

Really makes a difference!
Does a great job. I have two grinders - a Bodum and a Capresso. This sieve removes the fines and my coffee hasn't tasted better. Easy to use and easy to clean. I'm going to buy a second one to use at work.
