Very well built product. I like it that it is stand up so you are less likely to forget your card. It is heavy enough so when you pull your card out the reader stays put which is not like the cheaper reader that that you holding the reader in one hand and pulling your card out with the other. I work for the military. I used this card reader for my CAC to access Office files, Air Force websites, and Desktop Anywhere. I bought a usb-c reader and the connection broke within a week. This reader uses the earlier usb connection but is much sturdier and the reader works more consistently as well. I couldn’t be more pleased.

in order to access DoD sites passwords are no longer needed. with CAC access allow you to secure entry with out the painful need to retype a user name and password and if you are able to access remotely from home a CAC reader is needed. i will be honest that there is no real difference from this device to any other just that it sands up which is really nice.

With a very simple setup process, and a "kid safe" feel. I highly recommend this CAC reader. It's heavy enough and has a grip on the bottom that keeps it in one place on my desk, not flopping around. It's "retro" enough that my kids are afraid to touch it since it looks like dad's work stuff

There are much more user friendly readers out there. For military go with the SCR331.

This reader is heavy, durable, and easy to install. I like it because it's weighty enough that you can pull your card in and out without having to hold onto the reader, and doesn't get in the way like a card reader built into your keyboard is likely to do. If you're trying to decide between this and other similarly priced Smartcard readers, this is the one you want. I've used other CAC readers manufactured by Schlumberger, and SCM, and this is by far the most durable, reliable, and convienient card reader on the market.

This unit is heavy and sturdy. That's unfortunately the only nice thing I can say about it. My office is outfitted with hundreds of these, and all of them are pieces of junk. They only even notice a card is inserted into them probably 2 out of 5 attempts. We even swapped all the cards to a different brand to be sure it wasn't the cards. It wasn't. I'd much rather stick with the slim profile ones than waste my time monkeying with one of these again.

easy to install, and sets up quick and works just fine for what I need on my computer. took 5 minutes to set up. very nice!
