The Hare Krishna Book of Vegetarian Cooking

This is my go-to for fine vegetarian cooking.With an intro by the fabulous, Hayley Mills,it has at least 100 recipes the Hare Krishna's came up with.Simple, tasty and fine. Try the Chana Masala.

I use these cookbook lots. Some of my favorite dishes are now from this book. Easy to follow recipes.

For those who like food with flavor that is also nutritious and attractive, regardless of one's religious leanings, this is an excellent cook book.One may disregard the ritual aspects of making the food an offering and simply eat delicious food that is relatively simply to prepare.I am sending a copy of this book to my sister, who is not a Hindu nor an adherent to Krishna consciousness, but who is a wonderful cook in that the hopes that should I be able to visit her in the future she might cook a Vedic meal.I highly recommend this cookbook to anyone even if you are not a vegetarian.namaste

This cookbook has great recipes and is easy to follow. The food I've been making is so delicious. I substitute almond milk yogurt and olive oil to make the food vegan. I started out making the Dals with my Insta pot, now I make one almost daily. I even skip the step of frying the spices and just add them to the Insta pot with the beans when cooking and it still comes out amazing and only uses one pot!

Has a great explanation of Indian ingredients. Recipes are easy to follow. Good variety of dishes as well!

Bought this as the suggestion of a Facebook group and definitely not disappointed. Everything we’ve made has been delicious. The koftas alone are worth the purchase.

Good recipes, has a helpful breakdown of common terms newbies may not know, it also gives suggested meals as examples of how to pair foods. Very cool book! Lots of good recipes too, nom nom nom. And the book was surprisingly good quality, physically. The pages were sturdy and glossy, the cover was hard and well made, and it felt so silky as I flipped through the pages!

The photography is beautiful and helpful, especially for a beginner. Just look through the pictures, and you will be very inspired to select and make these! The type is large and easy to read, and the directions are easy to follow. This is my favorite Indian cookbook. There is information about the purpose of cooking with God consciousness and offering it to the Lord, which makes it free of karma.
