Perfect book for game building
I absolutely love this book. It walks me through game development and let me digest the concepts and technics. I actually make new games and see ho my codes shape the game. Moreover, you will have some challenges at the end of each chapter so you can practice further what you have learnt. If you don't have any familiarity with Swift or Objective C, I advise you read and practice Swift for beginners before starting this book. I did it my self. This book doesn't teach you class, method, etc.

what an awesome quality book and a good read
Agree with all reviews...what an awesome quality book and a good read. Has presentations/code examples on many elements I've been researching for a board game: particle systems, physics, saving/restoring game states, porting to OS X, Game Center, leader boards; taught me the value of layers. Also bought the PDF version (full color, all 28 chapters) so I can do word searching and take with me when I'm "out there, working." It's makes for a great reference book! Web site has great tutorials. Thanks RW Team!

I wish every programming book was written like this.
I wish every programming book was written like this. The lessons are easy to follow and the authors make sure to drive home any key points before moving on so you're sure to understand what's being taught.I'll admit I was hesitant to buy a book from Ray Wenderlich since it's not O'Reilly or Apress but after working through the first few chapters I can honestly say that I wish every book in my collection was written by his team. Will be buying more from RW.

Great Book but I wish I would have known about the digital version before I purchased
Great book. I kind of wish I would have known about the digital only book first. You get a special deal with the book but it's still about $35 on top. If I would have known about the digital version I would have got that one instead.

Great for Learning
It's a nice book and it tells you like step by step why you're doing certain things, but sometimes it doesn't tell you what they're doing and it's like saying, "write this code and that's it." Still good.

Fun and Games!
I followed these tutorials after the IOS Apprentice, not just to write games apps but to learn about other areas. The stuff on the physics engine was super. The book is well written with very few typos and excellent examples. The is a lot of detail but very meaningful results. The resources provided were also excellent

Good learning experience, easy to learn and read, but has some problems
Code in book doesn't work in the newest Xcode which is annoying. Many things are solvable easily with Xcode automatically fixing thing, but somethings you have to figure out.

interessante
ottimo manuale, da abbinare però ad uno studio del manuale swift fornito da Apple , non so fino a che punto può essere consigliabile per un neofita della programmazione, secondo me necessita per lo meno di una base di programmazione anche Java o C
