Outstanding launch monitor!
This is an excellent mini launch monitor that is easy to use! I am totally impressed with how easy it was to set up and the numbers from each different club is spot on! Flightscope has a winner here with the Mevo! Perfect and would highly recommend this model! Reasonable priced for a quality launch monitor. The app is easy to download on your phone and gives you accurate numbers!

Great diagnostic tool at a twentieth of the price
The Mevo provides you key information to help you better hit a golf ball. It measures club head speed, ball speed, ball rotation speed, and launch angle. It calculates smash factor, carry distance, and total distance. I’ve taken the Mevo onto the golf course and hit shots during a practice round to measure its accuracy, and have found it to be within a few yards of the estimated distance. This tells me that the ball rotation and club head speed must be pretty close. The devise is small. It fits into my pocket, albeit with a bulge. It’s very transportable. It’s easy to set up. It syncs with my iPhone 7 quickly. I’ve tried my iPad as well, but unfortunately although it syncs, it didn’t register any swings, but that could have been operator error (it was late at night, and there may have been intoxicants involved). Overall, I’m very pleased with the gadget. Now maybe I’ll be able to vanquish my friends. They’ll never know what hit them!

I'd give it 4.5 stars. Just be reasonable about expectations
If you buy this expecting it to do as well and be as accurate as a trackman, you will be disappointed. It's a $500 unit meant to be something affordable for us golf junkies. For me, it was exactly what I thought it would be and more. I had read a lot about the mevo since it's release. I've been tempted to get it since it became available but waited. I was super eager to take it out to the range to test it out. Overall, I was very impressed with the results. I believe that it's really important to know carry distance and launch angles. Up until now I had only received some of this data from the launch monitors at the golf shop. But this little device gives these numbers and so much more. I have it setup to give these 2 figures plus smash, ball speed, spin and club head speed. I was very surprised when it was picking up spin without the use of the silver dots. It caught a spin number on over 90% of the balls hit at the range session. And I think those numbers were pretty accurate. I have to say that it's not perfect. There were some shots that might have gone a little left or right that might have given slightly skewed numbers. But overall, it was really good. Clubs were traveling the numbers I felt I was hitting. It even became super fun to try and feel a distance and then try and hit that distance. Competing with my son brought those good old competitive juices right to the brink. Dang kid kept beating me. Then we tried the hit a ball and guess the number. Again, pretty accurate. The app stores each range session for review later. It automatically notes the date and time you started your session and the number of swings captured during the session. There is a chart that it could generate showing each balls flight and decent path. That was neat to see. You do have to tell the Mevo what club you are hitting. It will do the rest to sort out the data based on the club you are hitting. It was pretty fun exploring all the details on there. Felt like I could become a YouTuber and post some of the results. The next time I'm out, I might sort out the session but short, long irons, woods and then drivers. That way, I can focus more on the different aspects of the game and see the charts a little more clearly. Angle of decent and the affects of spin will show better on the chart doing it this way. There's still a lot more to this app that I haven't explored. I've read it's supposed to talk to you though I haven't explored that as of yet. Don't expect the world from this little thing. It won't deliver but if you want something to help improve your game, a solid training aid, this little device will do just fine. I'm eager to setup my hitting net and get some spin numbers off my wedges with my own ball.

Making a difference in my game.
I purchased the Mevo about two weeks ago and have since used it twice on the range off turf and twice from my back porch off of a mat. As a point of reference, I am a senior golfer (68) with a 3.1 handicap. My average drive is around 230. So far I have been very pleased with the product (other than I feel it is overpriced). To date, I have spent most of my practice time with my wedges (58, 54, 50, and 46). Dialing in these clubs was the main reason I purchased the Mevo, seconded by a desire to get a little more clubhead speed with my driver. My practice time with the Mevo and my wedges has been very productive. I'm fortunate to have a large pasture behind my back porch allowing me hit and recover good balls. I consider using these balls is a much fairer test of the Mevo's numbers than what it measures with well-worn range balls. I used a range finder to verify the carry distance as measured by the Mevo and found it very accurate with no more than a yard or two error across all four wedges. Since I have not used a launch monitor before to any great extent I don't really have a way to evaluate the accuracy of the other measured parameters. However, I was able to get good correlation between my "feel" on a shot compared to the measurement. This was particularly true on clubhead speed versus carry and smash factor. My wedges show wear a little towards the toes of the club which I have suspected is costing me distance and consistency. As I practiced with the Mevo, I worked to hit the ball closer to the center and saw definitive improvement in carry, ball speed, and smash factor without a change in clubhead speed. In other words, I was hitting the ball closer to the sweet spot of the club and getting better results without having to "muscle" the shot. I have worked with the longer clubs some and found the software excellent regarding video playback (I use the data mode only on my wedges). I'll start working more with the driver soon and will try to update this review then. My final comment is that, while I am very happy with the product, I just wish it was not so expensive. I'm no marketing guy but I have to believe that getting this product more reasonably priced would result in many, many more sales given its usefulness to golfers of all abilities.

More than I thought
Between my eyesight and our range, I can never tell just how far I hit balls when I warm up or practice, especially as the temperature changes from winter to spring. This little device sits right behind where I set my range balls, and my Android phone sits on the club stand where I can see it easily. The pairing went well (AFTER I fully charged the device), and now, every shot I hit comes with a ball speed, club speed, carry and height. Obviously, it doesn't include the bounce and roll for the entire distance, but it seems very accurate as I go out onto the course and hit the same clubs from the appropriate distances. There's lots more to discover - this has tons of options, but seeing the video of each swing with the associated data has made a great impact on how I swing the clubs, after just 2 weeks. If you are looking for solid, helpful feedback from your range, this was far better than I had anticipated!

I'm not sure what the market for this device is
As someone who is into the analytical and numbers side of the game, I really wanted to like this device. Portable enough to bring to the range/keep in my bag and provides some good features with overlaying swing data on recordings. That being said, I struggle to find a use-case for this device - at least one that validates its $500 price tag. I primarily wanted to use this with my backyard net setup to get feedback while practicing. Set to indoor mode (which the app suggests for use with a net) with the mevo 7 ft behind the ball and ~8 feet of ball flight it just didn't perform. Every 3rd or 4th shot would have some of the parameters missing (club head speed or ball speed) or a no-read altogether. Knowing my club distances pretty well, I do have serious doubts the carry distances are accurate when hitting into a net. irons were 10-15 yards shorter than usual and woods/driver were 20-30 yards shorter. It seemed to perform much better on the range where it could watch more of the ball flight. I'd say accurate carry within 2-3 yards on shorter irons. The problem is range balls are designed to be shorter than a normal golf ball so the numbers you get won't mean much. I also don't want to spend $$ on range buckets when I have a hitting setup at home. Another gripe is that you need to use the app to get data since there's no display. That itself isn't a big deal but the app requires bluetooth, NFC, and GPS to all be enabled for it to pair to the device. If you turn off any of them it disconnects. I'm not sure why it should need GPS location to operate but that means my phone uses way more battery and also gets extremely hot in the sun on a warm day. Conclusion: For this price range this product doesnt make sense over some of the cheaper entry level offerings like the PRGR, SC300, or Rapsodo that offer comparable performance. If you're just looking for clubhead speed training at the range these entry level models will work. It seems more worth it to save the money and spend to $2k on a skytrak if you're looking for a good at-home solution, with the added bonus of being a simulator.

Do not trust the product ranking sites
So, this one does not even have screens, which I had known. Still, many reviews and ranking sites praised that this is the top dog in terms of accuracy. So I purchased it. But I would never find out the accuracy. I tried to connect it and it did not show up. I installed the app and on the device list, it showed something like Mevo_000278xxx [-47] for a brief time when I turn it on, last bracketed number ever increases whenever I tried to turn it off and on again. Now I am guessing it is the number of failures. When I pressed the - error code like - device name, it does not connect. But somehow, the blinking LED turns solid, which is supposed to mean that I am connected according to the manual. So the device thinks it is connected but neither the phone's bluetooth list nor the app's device list shows the mevo is around. I went through so much trouble for such a little device. I am returning Mevo and buying Swing Caddie instead. I hope that works for me.

Impressive — and the killer feature isn't even the stats
I've been experimenting with small tweaks to my swing and grip, and I found that taking videos of myself at the driving range was very helpful in identifying issues that I needed to address. I was curious how these adjustments to my technique might affect swing speed, ball speed, etc., and that's what led me to the Mevo. I did quite a bit of research on the product, comparing it to others like the Swing Caddie. The feature that sold me on the Mevo was the ability to capture video with an overlay of stats, and that has turned out to be the killer feature for me. It automatically captures and trims video snippets of each individual swing, then saves it to your device. I no longer need to scrub through 30 minutes of video, zooming in to try and figure out which club I was using, and searching for those one or two swings where I felt like things went right (or wrong). Now, I get one video per swing, with a (configurable) number of seconds before and after the swing. I can use the app to scroll through a table of swings for a session, with each row identifying the club, carry, smash factor, etc. This allows me to quickly review and assess the results of a session, and makes it easy to go back and see how I've improved over time. I'm very impressed with this product. It's reasonably accurate, and the app and device are much more reliable than I anticipated. It only takes me about a minute to get it set up. Then, other than telling the app when I change clubs, or stopping occasionally to review the video of the previous swing, I don't have to fiddle with it at all. I just focus on my swing, then go home and review the results.

Great Portable Launch Monitor
Accurate launch monitor thats syncs with the camera on your phone. Spec includes launch angle, clubhead and ball speeds, distance carry and spin rate. Fantastic portable product for perfecting your golf swing. My only grumble is it doesnt have a slow motion feature.
