We have two of these. We keep them in the freezer and remove when using. They keep the wine very cold though out the meal.They work, are heavy duty and beautiful.

The style, of course, is a matter of taste. I happen to have been a real fan of Nambe ever since I was given a butterfly bowl as a wedding gift nearly 40 years ago. It is a bit pricey, but, then, it is art, and how do you put a value on art? As a gift, it is perfect--I've given several pieces over the years, and the recipients never fail to be wowed. I'll bet I've made a dozen Nambe customers-for-life over the years. The initial appearance is spectacular. You might think it looks like stainless steel, but the luster is much softer than that. The metal is warm to the touch, and its thermal properties are as advertised. One note of caution: my advice is to buy a tube of Nambe polish and polish the piece regularly from the start. Once it loses its luster, you'll have a hard time getting it back. Nambe does offer a refinishing service, but it is quite expensive.

The Nambe wine chillers are gorgeous. They take on the condensation in the air as soon as you take them out of the freezer, which adds some additional texture to the appearance. The only downside is that they are solid metal, and uninsulated. Thus, they lose their chill relatively quickly. I bought 2, and swap them in and out of the freezer as needed. A little more hassle, but it lets me show off the designs of each of the Nambe coolers I bought.

When this item is warm, it looks exactly as advertised but don't forget about physics. Freeze the chiller and the polished surface becomes coated with frozen water crystals. Like just about anything you stick in the freezer, it becomes frosted. While it still performs its function, it is not nearly as appealing to the eye. As the chiller warms up, the water crystals melt and water in the air condenses on its surface leaving droplets. My wife and I still love this item and use it regularly, but I didn't get what I expected.

Beautiful and classic style Nambe wine chiller. Was a gift for my boss along with glasses and champagne, he loved it. Other wine chillers I've looked at just looked cheap. The price on this was great and worth every penny.
