Like many of you, I did a bit of research on replacement screen material and ended up here on Amazon. I had no idea what brand or type was the best so I took a chance and got a single roll which was enough to replace one window on my sun porch. Our cat ruined a few of our screens so I wanted to try and replace the screen on just one window to see if I was able to do the job myself before ordering 8 more rolls. It’s super easy to install and I truly believe just about anyone can do it. I took the old spline out of the frame, used the old screen as a size guide when cutting the new screen and used the wheel tool to shove the spline into the groove. It’s worked perfectly, looks amazing and it’s crystal clear like I hoped. I know ordered the other 8 rolls and look forward to fixing all of the windows. I also ordered the spline kit that had three different sized spline rolls in it which I recommend if you aren’t sure as to what size you need. Mine ended up being a .140 size. If you are on the fence about doing this yourself, buy a roll and give it a shot. It’s easy and the final product looks like it did originally when our windows were put in. Fantastic screen material!

I finally had a chance to complete my new screen door yesterday, and I used New York Wire Clear Advantage for the screening.I had checked it immediately upon arrival due to a previous review complaining of damage. Mine had no damage, but I was still a little worried just how dark this looked on the roll, and even upon installation (I was making the door in unnatural light in the basement).Sure enough, once I installed the door to the outside world, it looks fantastic, near invisible.This screen seems to be more lightweight than metallic versions I've used before.My experience was great: good price and good quality.

The color I selected was charcoal; as had previously. Is it transparent/invisible, no but its a screen material have used before, and seems to install relatively easily and is fairly forgiving, though depends on your skills/tools. It seems fairly durable - i.e. got ~14 years of longevity in Florida's heat and intense UV. While wish it lasted longer :), not sure what the expected life is. I got 2 window screens or 1 patio door screen out of 1 roll. My complaint is not with the screen but with seller as they limit the # of rolls you can buy to 6 (2 purchases x 3 rolls), which wasn't enough to finish a complete set of house windows.

Good value for the cost. Easy to use but the rubber seals that keep the screen in were smaller so save the rubber seal if you can from the screen you're replacing.

I live on an upper floor of a high rise apartment building & have a cat who enjoys looking out the bedroom window to the scenery & happenings & dog walks below during the summer months as well as winter. The provided loosely fit screen on the window to the bedroom would not hold her weight if she would decide to push at it enough. I had to find a solution to prevent her falling to her death. When she was a kitten she liked climbing curtains & screens. Only by sheer luck nothing happened. At first I was using a transparent curtain until I thought that the best idea would be a second screen that I had taught myself how to carefully pin up & secure the entire window area. It took some ingenuity. I think this brand was the same exact brand name I got at a local store--I remember the name! But I had to take the bus & it took away over an hour of my time. I ran out of screens, but this year was a bit difficult for me to make that extra effort to go to that store. So I decided, what the heck, let me look on Amazon & this brand type did not immediately appear when I plugged in "clear screening." No! I had to plug in "extra clear screening" & bingo, this brand came up as an option. It takes me a few hours to redo the window each year, & I redo the window each year with the double screening only because of possible dust accumulation during the winter & need to wipe down the window area & change the regular sun blocking screens--not because there is any damage to the screen. I tried another brand two years ago because it was only convenient for me to stop at another store. It did not compare in the least to the quality & crystal clear view I get with this brand & it's not worth getting any other type even if it says charcoal / fiberglass. My kitty enjoys spending many evening hours watching outside the window & seeing the cars come & go to & from the building, dogs being taken for a walk, the trees, the two lane side street beyond & all the various happenings below. She enjoys that extra clear view that I have provided for her & at the same time be perfectly safe from falling to her death. Not only that but this screen is environmentally friendly with less toxins--since she's right there next to the screen for many hours. She's old now & does not climb curtains or screens any more, but the double screen is a must to prevent any accident, & a very high quality clear view is also a must for her viewing enjoyment. This screen provides that extra high quality clear view & Amazon delivered three screens to me protected in an appropriate box & there was no bending or damage to them. I don't need to go out of my way to get these screens any more. Amazon delivered. Very happy. Why didn't I think of this before?! If she is alive after 3 more years, I will order again.
