BlueStars Ultra Durable WR60X10185 Evaporator Fan Motor for G.E Hotpoint

Working well so far in our GE GSS25GMHKCES. I’m not sure if it’s the same for every model, but for mine, it has 2 additional wires in the connector for a thermostat sensor I believe, but regardless, 2 additional wires. I used a very small flat head screwdriver to depress the locking tabs on the pins inside of the original connector to remove the pins with the white wires going to that sensor. From there it was easy to push the pins into the connector that comes attached to this motor. I found it frustrating to replace but there’s just a lot of stuff that has to come off before you get to the fan, overall took about an hour & half including removing all the food and replacing it afterwards. Great product, I’ll update if anything changes!

The house we bought had a built-in 48" Jenn Air refrigerator (JS48PPFXDA) that was ~20 years old - and on the decline. Temperatures fluctuated, but we determined we could not use the freezer side anymore, as it would get up to 50 degrees, and never lower than 30. After dealing with this for more than a year, with it getting progressively worse, we decided it needed replacement, but a new 48" refrigerator was not an option. Took apart the freezer and found that there was ice all over the wiring - so it was getting cold enough, just wasn't getting the air down to the freezer section. The evaporator fan motor (Panasonic UDQT26MT6, Jenn Air part 67003241) wasn't working, and was discontinued. After much searching, and consulting with a local appliance repairman, I decided to order this one, even though it's a 9.5V, and the old one was a 12V. It was the same 4-wire configuration, and had the same sized/shaped wiring harness connector. Installation was relatively straightforward, but it didn't connect to the wiring harness very easily - have to push pretty hard. That said, it's not listed as a replacement for my machine, so I can't complain there. Also, the pin that the fan blades mount on was about an inch longer than my old one, so I cut it down to size with an angle grinder and filed the cut edge smooth. Put it into place, connected the wiring, pressed the freezer door switch (as if the door were closed) and waited about 15 seconds. Finally, it kicked on, and it worked! This afternoon the freezer temp is reading 5 degrees - it has never gotten that cold while we've had it! And now that the cold air is getting down where it needs to, and is getting pushed over to the refrigerator side, the fridge gets to the upper-30s where we set it, instead of also being in the low 50s. All things considered, this was a ~$20 part that saved me from spending a couple thousand dollars. Hopefully it will last a while.

Great item perfect fix

So far so good, refrigerator is back up to running. Freezer is -2F and fridge is 35F. I deducted 1 star because I had to rewire the new fan motor to the old plug. The reason for rewire is my old plug actually has SIX wires, the new plug is missing the two wires for sensor ... need sensor for the fan to function properly. For this to be a five star they would need to include a new sensor with the fan and the plug would then be wired for both. I was able to make this work but others may not be confident enough to start cutting and soldering wires .... Now I just hope the fan quality itself hold up like the original fan that is/was 25 years old before it failed!!!

I usually don’t leave reviews however I think this is very important. Please do not buy this product. My fridge is almost went broken because of this installed product. The fridge’s motherboard was almost burnt. The product worked for couple hours and stopped. I had to call the technician twice and pay for the service twice.

The first symptom was a very noisy fan. The last symptom before it died was a surging (revving) sound about once a second. After the evaporator fan failed, the freezer temp rose to the mid 20's and the fridge to the mid 40's. Worried that the controller board was also fried, I checked the voltages on the J2 connector. The red, yellow/black, and yellow to white voltages were all around 13VDC - good. The actual replacement took me about 1.5 hours. Most important here is that this unit works as a replacement for WR60X10151 (obsolete number) and WR60X10228. When I removed the old unit it had the exact same number (WR6oX10185) on it. Very happy - saved me over $100.

Easy fix. Saved a lot from having to pay for a repair call.

This refrigerator evaporator Fan motor was purchased on October 2023. Now it is September 2024 and it broke and needs replacement I was wondering about the product warranty and how to contact the seller to get a replacement .
