We had only been using an old ice cream pail before this. It was unsightly and held too much before there was a stink issue! This solves all of our issues. It's really sleek looking. While we're still in our winter months the stink hasn't been an issue but come summer the filters will be awesome! the bags coming with are a huge bonus as my kids don't complain about the grossness anymore:) works like a charm and glad I purchased it!

The canister is good. The carbon filters work great! But the bags start decomposing right away. You need to take it out after a day or two. I cleaned up a huge disgusting mess last weekend because a bag burst open.

We just recently started composting this summer and wanted to have a bin to keep on the counter. This one is the best one we found, especially for the price and what you get. It looks great on the counter and doesn’t smell, like ever! We’ll have fruit and veggies in it for a week and not one smell. The only downside is the bags aren’t the best. They leak in the bin but honestly it doesn’t bother me, because we just tip the entire bin into our compost bin and wash this pail. No big deal.

Have used plastic buckets for years.The plastic absorbs odors from scraps and must be replaced often, no matter how often it's washed and bleached. I searched specifically for a stainless steel bucket for kitchen scraps and found this. It includes bio-degradable liners and charcoal filters for the lid. It's so easy to use, just lift the bag out and drop in outside compost bin. There is no odor from it and it's even kind of attractive.

This pail will shield the odors just as well as their product description says it does and it does not leak. It was really nice getting the years' worth of liners and charcoal inserts. Downside is that it started rusting at the bottom within two months. I cannot NOT use the bags for compost.

The bags that came with the product are too small. Every time I put the waste into the bag, the bag just falls into the container. When I received the product it was not very well packaged and there wasn't any instructions included. I was very disappointed. I even contacted the manufacturer, left a message as I was instructed and never received a return phone call.

We needed a new compost bin and none of our local stores carry them "this time of year" even though composting in mandatory in our city (Seattle). I was really happy to find this good deal on Amazon. I like that we now have a good stock of compost bags and the filters as well (which I never bothered to change in our old bin because I never bothered to buy them). Stainless steel looks nice sitting on our counter top with other stainless steel appliances.

Far prefer using this in comparison to the plastic container we previously used. The liners and filters keep the entire experience cleaner and more attractive. Ultimately might do without the bags though I'm sure the can will age faster since the Liner bags are compostable so of course they are porous. All in all an attractive solution for the counter top.
