As Is: Women Exposed

Amy Gelb, in her introduction to As Is, beautifully writes about her journey which led to her project of photographing women’s bodies. Her sensitivity, attention to detail, understanding of women and their body images all shine through in this work of art. After seeing the photographs, it was fascinating to read what each person wrote about how she felt about her body throughout her life and while being photographed for this project. I believe As Is will help women see themselves differently. It certainly did that for me!

I really enjoyed this book. I am a photographer and work with all shapes and sizes. It is very refreshing to see bodies represented in their natural state. Well done. A very worthy add to my collection.

The artist should take pictures of men and women on death row on state and federal level and put out a book. It is awful that the people we elect can decide to kill people or not. their in a cell not hurting anyone. I think there is only a handful of countries do that. That is the true horror. Not the subjection of women.

This book captures the essence of real woman. Empowering, heartfelt, sincere, raw...all the "feels" from this amazing book. Amy Gelb has captured every woman in the most beautiful of ways. Do yourself a favor and get this book!

Thid beautiful book, by artist and photographer Amy Gelb, is extraordinary. The pictures reveal a level of acceptance, love and healing that can happen for woman when we decide to create our own cultural shift of what feminine beauty actually means.

Gets to the heart of the issue - Acceptance is important. Please note that the book I received was missing pages 57 to 64. No evidence of damage to the book. This was a printing error. Seller accepted the book back but did not have another copy to sell.
