WOW, I have enjoyed getting many of these! I would recommend getting these shells with the 10 colorful pearls inside. Price is better, and you only have to open 1 shell, for 10 pearls. I did not notice any smell, but I did use plastic gloves to open them. I felt there was a substance, on the shell, that may irritate the skin on the hands. The 5 shells were easily opened with scissors. There was a nice selection of different colored pearls. I believe these "oysters" are "helped" getting their pearls and the colors, but I still love them and even bought some spiral pearl cages, to display some of them. Amazon has many cages, too. HAVE FUN--HAVE A "PEARL PARTY", with friends!

Beautiful pearls! They are a great quality for the price. The smell is better than other oysters I’ve ordered and I love that they come with envelopes to keep your pearls in. One of my oysters came with 9 pearls, instead of 10. However, with the quality, I felt this order still deserved the 5-Star rating. I would definitely recommend as well as purchase again.

The media could not be loaded. These were so much fun to open! They are a great quality, little to no blemishes and round. They vary in size but there are some large pearls inside and an array of colors. I was pleasantly surprised and will absolutely do business with this company again and again! I ordered from multiple distributors and these were of the best quality!

These had good colors and were pretty well shaped mostly 6-6.5mm

My daughter and I watched quite a few oyster shucking videos on Youtube before we purchased this item. Each oyster does actually have 10 pearls inside! We were so excited to see what colors we got. It was like Christmas morning. We even bought a caliper for my daughter to measure the size of each pearl. The quality of the pearls isn't perfect, but it is pretty good! Now we have to figure out how to make jewelry out of them. Definitely a fun summer project to do with an older kid.

I loved all 50 pearls! They were very vibrant colors. I think I will order these for my granddaughters! They will make great birthday gifts. I thought the price was phenomenal. Thank you for adding to my pearl stash.
