Comfy with superior sound
These headphones have always been favorites of mine. Theyโre a tad heavier, so they donโt go out with me, but they live on my head all day at work. Rich, warm natural sound, and decent isolation due to the closed back design. I donโt find them too heavy during normal use but some might if they use them as walking-around headphones. Two cables in a nice little box and the canvas bag make these feel premium (and they are). The ear pads are super comfortable. I recommend these to everyone.

Dynamic, warm without fatiguing my ears + headphone craftmanship = happiness
I just received my master and dynamic mh 40 leica edition cans. So far I am blown away by these headphones. They are not studio phones by any measure (not as accurate) but are really engaging and lively headphones that I am enjoying. I have owned beyers (dt 770, dt 880, grado sr325's, etc), sennies, grados, and others and these are the most fun I have had listening to my music collection. All the German manufactured I have ow craftsmanship were returned because they truly do not still have the quality control (or build quality) they once were praised for. The mh40's prove that a manufacturer can build a headphone that exudes both craftsmanship and sonic bliss. I will update my experience in a couple of weeks. So far I am more than impressed.

Craftsmanship is ridiculous!
These are my fourth pair of headphones in 6 months and they're incredible! Sound, comfort, and build quality are everything you've read. The stand is also a must have!

Lacking beautiful leather
Not as nice as their others with leather instead of silver medal

decent sound, impact resistant, some what bulky
I have used these headphones almost on a daily basis since I received them, mostly to talk on video chat for work. the incoming and outgoing sound quality of voice is more than decent, rarely has anyone complained that they are having issues hearing me. The chord and ear cushions can be disatatched from the device, which is a neat feature. Saying that, I did find them to rest somewhat heavily on my head and that they also fell off easily if i moved my head down or up. the ear pieces are made of a metal like material hat has proved resistant to impact on hard word floors from below 5 feet. The device comes with a spare aux chord and a cute round magnet closing box (this spare aux chord however does not have a microphone or volume controls as the other one does). All in all, I am pleased with the product enough to use it on a daily basis despite the bulkiness drawback.

An Audiophile's Dream: A Master & Dynamic MH40 Leica Silver Edition Wired Over-Ear Headphones Review
The Master & Dynamic MH40 Leica silver edition wired over-ear headphones, made in China, are designed with the Leica Noctilux-M 50mm/f0.95 ASPH lens as a source of inspiration. The stunning package come with the headphones, a round leather case holding a plain audio cable, an iDevice audio cable, and jack adapter, a cloth storage pouch, and documentation. Aesthetically, these headphones are absolutely beautiful. As a photo-hobbyist, I thought the connection to a camera lens would be fun, but these go far beyond into being a work of art. The metal construction with leather padding and Leica styling all come together to create a stunning appearance. Being a pair of headphones, a stunning appearance is just not enough. Fortunately, the sound quality is just as stunning as these headphone's appearance. The sound quality has more than enough range to provide deep base while accurately hitting the high notes at any volume. I generally listen to music with wireless earbuds, but these wired headphones are a joy to listen with and have become my go to option. These headphones are heavy, due to the materials used to create them. However, they are well balanced, and the weight is manageable. My only real complaint is with the cable options. I use both Android and iOS devices for audio, and Android has more market share than Apple. A luxury headphone like these should have Android capability included or as an alternate option. Although, I would prefer having both cables. The Master & Dynamic MH40 Leica silver edition wired over-ear headphones stunningly beautiful and provides high quality audio. These luxury headphones are a steep investment, but for those who are willing to pay the price, these headphones are sure to please. PROS: Stunning design Pleasing audio Great audio range 2-year limited warranty CONS: Heavy No Android cable

My ears have been leveled up
I am exceedingly frugal when it comes to headphones and earbuds. I usually set my upper limit at $30 so when they are inevitably lost or broken, I'm not out a bunch of money and not too upset. These headphones are like being upgraded to a First Class seat from the very back of the plane, where I'd been wedged between two Eastern European bodybuilders. (Being a Vine reviewer I didn't have to pay out of pocket but I am taking a tax hit, so it's not like I have no skin in the game here.) The presentation is thoughtful. Unboxing these is an event, much like opening a new vinyl album was back in the '80s. The fit and finish are exceptional, and the attention to detail is amazing. (I'm German, so machines and craftsmanship are very appealing to me.) Other reviewers have noted their heft; I can see how wearing these for several hours at a stretch could get uncomfortable. And now to the sound. Holy moly. It's like my first filet mignon after a lifetime of cheap chuck steak. I tried Spotify and iTunes songs on the highest bitrate and CDs and all were spectacular. I'm not one to argue the superiority of vinyl over digital but these headphones make me want to buy a turntable and some vinyl records and sink into a big leather chair for a few hours. They are seriously impressive--maybe even life-changing--and I'm grateful for the opportunity to use them.

Best. Headphones. Ever.
I admit I don't usually pay this amount of money for headphones. After these, I changed my mind. My first thought, why not wireless? After using the wire and hearing the amazing quality of the sounds--I understand. The out-of-the-box experience matches the price tag. It's a beautiful box and it comes with two detachable audio cables: one for mobile phones with a microphone and another direct headphone cord. The sound quality was the same with either one. I love being able to switch off between my phone and computer effortlessly. It's those little touches that make a difference. If you travel with them, they even include a stylish velvet bag for the cords and headphones. My only complaint is they're heavy. After about an hour or so, I need to take them off because they can get uncomfortable. To be fair, most headphones with a band only last about 30 minutes with me before I have to take them off. I had no idea the quality of my sound until I started using these headphones. The quality of the sound makes we wonder why I ever used Bluetooth wireless headphones. Old school for me from now on.

Retro styling - quality sound
After debating (with myself) for a while, whether to stick to noise cancelling and wireless models I have decided to go for the MH40. The Leica inspired design is cool, quality of material and built is excellent and it sounds great. I am very happy with the purchase.

Awesome Cans
Now I have owned a lot of headphones. I have great quality hifi gear..not McIntosh high end, but Rega, Bowers & Wilkins, Marantz to give an idea, and am a massive audiophile..not nerdy tho!! So I waited to review these until they were burnt in a bit. I also played them thru a Samsung Galaxy A71 just to see. Tried on both with Enigma's Principles of Lust off the album. Cannot see how there is any negative points! Thru my hifi system they sound immense, bass, mid range etc just incredible clarity, response and perfection. On my phone damn good, but not enough power to drive them as they should be, but still amazing. So not only amazing sound quality, but they look amazing as well. I have the Leica SE version. Just gorgeous, superb detail and quality, and the M&D stand to go with them is just a thing of beauty like the cans. My advice..buy them. Way better than anything else IMO. Thanks for reading...oh and I like rock, jazz and a lot of other stuff.
