Have used various models and brands of these in the past but they never seem to work as intended or as quick.This is ideal, bought 2 so I have one at home and one in the car. Plug and play, quick file transfers when I'm backing clients computers up or transferring data from old to new. Couldn't ask for more and great price, size and well built. USB and USB-C connection is a nice addition.

I recently purchased a SATA to USB cable, and it has been a game-changer for me. This fantastic invention allows me to convert old hard drives into massive plug-and-play USB storage devices, which has been incredibly useful.It comes with a power lead for larger hard drives, however none of the hard drives I have used have been the old spinning disk ones, so cant tell you much about if it works for them or not. In about 10 hard drives I have tried it on, there was only 1 that didn't work. I think it was the hard drive and nothing to do with the cable.The cable is easy to use and works seamlessly. I simply connect it to an old hard drive, and it instantly transforms into a portable USB storage device. This has opened up a whole new world of possibilities, as I now actively look for old computers to harvest hard drives from.The quality of the cable is excellent, and it has performed reliably every time I’ve used it. It’s sturdy and well-made, ensuring a secure connection without any data transfer issues. The plugged in device speed and performance is very good when copying files to and from. I haven't had to wait ages for large files they have been copied over in good time.The SATA to USB cable has exceeded my expectations and provided a cost-effective solution for repurposing old hard drives. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to expand their storage options in a simple and efficient way.

Fully works with my otg connected android smartphones running Android 7.1.0, so I would expect the same with all other Android operating systems using this adapter with 3.5" hdds with the 12 volt 2 amp power supply provided. The only operational discrepancy I found, but I do not regard it as an issue to be concerned about as the contents of all hdds connected in this way are all correctly shown, is that for some reason it proclaims the connected hdd as being, 'JNation usb drive', instead of correctly showing the correct and relevant hdd manufacturer of the hdd in the titling of whatever hdd is actually connected! Other than this particular discrepancy, no other operational issues were discovered when connected in this way, with connected hdds immediately recognized by my smartphones, including all files and other material previously written to these hdds by my smartphones before using this adapter with these drives, and very importantly, without having to reformat and in doing so, losing the data already installed on these drives, and access reading and writing speeds appeared to be good although not specifically checked. On testing I discovered something advantageous to the user that is not mentioned in the manufacturer's description; this item does actually have a, 'sleep', mode the existence or otherwise of this being previously asked in a question above these written reviews here which is activated after just over three minutes of inactivity, one can hear the hdd powering down after this time and powering up again on selecting the contents of a still displayed file to access. There is in this case an initial short access delay of a few seconds. I have only had this for about a week at the time of writing, so i intend to try to come back here to further update this if there emerges anything of any concern to report over and above what I have written here. I hope this might be useful to someone who might otherwise be experiencing trepidation about buying this adapter for use in a similar scenario to me as to whether it would actually and satisfactorily work or not with this particular usage as I was before purchasing, especially as this particular usage is not at all mentioned in the manufacturer's product description, so I took a chance in buying it that it would! A great bit of kit to connect all hard drives and optical drives. works flawlessly with my SSDs and ive even burnt blu ray discs. only down side to its the length of the USB cable

Works great! It does feel a bit flimsy but for the price I’m not complaining!Highly recommend for a budget friendly option that works with DVD internal drive.

I bought this to connect a cheap SSD to my Raspberry Pi 3B. No issues at all—Windows recognised the drive instantly when I was prepping it (as with any new disk, you still need to initialise it, but that’s nothing to do with the cable itself).Once the OS was configured, the Pi had no problem with the drive either. Made a noticeable difference to performance on the 3B, and I imagine it’s even snappier on a Pi 4, which has USB 3.0 support (unlike the 3B).Packaging was decent—honestly could’ve just been a plastic bag, but it came properly boxed, so no complaints. Does exactly what I needed it to. Solid bit of kit.
