Casio - Watch Casio Collection Steel (b650wd-1aef)

The reason I bought this watch was I thought the case was made of stainless steel, (it says it is in the "Product Specifications").It is NOT! The back and bracelet are but not the case. It's made of the usual resin that is coated with a satin metal-look finish. The Casio website confirms the case is "resin". It's okay just now but the finish will wear off in time.I was going to return it, but the watch has some features I like: the digits are large and easy to see and it is more water resistant than the Casio A168WA-1YES I usually wear.Thought I had found my ideal Casio retro watch. Disappointed.Edit Update: I have had the watch for a few days now and it is excellent. As mentioned, the digits are large, the backlight is really effective and the bracelet looks good and is comfortable. I would go as far as to say it's one of the best Casio watches I have owned.Originally gave the review 3 stars because the case is not metal, I changed it to 5 as it is a great watch nonetheless.

OK so I received this today to replace my Casio A168 which I regrettably gave away to my sister. I saw this on offer on Amazon as cheaper than the a168 model so I thought I'd chance it.. It's bigger than the More popular A168 model looks very similar though more subtle with the different style of stainless steel strap. Unlike other illuminated models this doesn't fully illuminate. It lights up the numbers from the left hand side as per my pic which I took in full daylight. It's lights up pretty well although the "illuminator" statement is a bit exaggerated. The case itself feels like stainless steel but it's actually coated resin which appears to be quite sturdy. This has fooled alot of people I believe. You can do the bite test. Gently bite the strap which is stainless steel then the case. You'll notice the difference between metal and plastic straight away. I'm giving it 4 stars at the moment because it's looks pretty retro and is rarer than the other retro casio models. 50 meter water resistant, I've only had it in the shower. My previous casio I took swimming and that was 30 metres. One star off for not having a proper illuminator. I'll update this review once I've had this a bit longer.

I like watches and have a small collection which until this purchase were all bar one non-digital. So wanted a simple, functional, cheap digital and once I'd decided on a digital, wanted something 'old skool'. This of course meant only one thing; the classic Casio F-91W Casio Unisex Watch F-91WM-1BEF. In Grey is looks very smart (and the Gold was a real "nearly" for me and I don't normally do gold.... BUT....I wanted a little more WR (this is 5bar, the F-91 is splash proof only) and a bigger face sitting on my wrist. The 650 is in no way massive or oversized but, the F-91 is small on adults wrist. Remember, most of us had one of those whilst still a child! Maybe the same thing on why Wagon Wheels seem smaller these days?!?So the B650 is larger face for a adult, a larger display and easier face to read, more water proof than the 91 (10bar version of the 650 would have been perfect please note Casio!) and gives simple time, date (day of week and date of month, no month number which many other models have and I didn't want). It looks retro whilst also smart and simple...which it is! The watch is plastic with a silver coating and the band is metal and a little thin in width truth be told. Easy to change the band however - I may put a leather or NATO strap on to mine.When I purchased this from Amazon it was a little over £20 (so free postage!) and it's a barry 'argin for that! Buy one as for the retro-futuristic look alone!

This is the same as the £8 casio in terms of functions, the light is slightly better, but not much. The extra size seems pointless - I really like the clean cut of the strap but unfortunately, they caught on my arm hair quite a lot and I'm not very hairy.

A good value for money digital watch with a clear display of time and date. Has a settable alarm and can be used as a stopwatch. Comes with a stainless steel strap.

Stainless steel strap, easy to adjust size for most wrists I believe. The watch case is not stainless steel but that does not detract from the watch.

Very good and reliable watch, my last Casio it lasted 13 years.
