The best brown betty teapot ever
The media could not be loaded. I've been looking for a teapot that's round, doesn't drip, sturdy, and doesn't burn your knuckles. This is exactly it. Check out their website, as there's a cool back story behind it.

Icon re-engineered. Brilliant.
A classic / icon for making tea in the UK, engineered for be better; holds the heat, handle keeps knuckles away from hot outside, lid lip stops it from falling out when pouring and the spout is underneath preventing any drips and leaning no mess. Holds enough for at least three large mugs of tea.

Mixed feelings
First up I bought this direct from the manufacturer not from Amazon but as there's no way of leaving a review on their website, I'll leave it here. The spout doesn't drip. We'll maybe the odd one but the redesigned spout really does work. The new lid is also excellent and doesn't need to be held in place when the pot is poured. The four cup size is good for two large mugs, which is just what I wanted. It can take a litre of hot water but is better with, say 900ml.There is one thing that I'm not happy with. The pot's thinness. The main reason why I paid so much extra for a brown betty is because of its claims for heat retention. Well any claim that the traditiona; pot might have is undermined by the thinness of this re-engineered version. A thick heavy pot, if suitable pre-warmed, has thermal inertia. A thin pot, not only feels fragile but basically just acts as a radiator.I wanted a pot that would last the rest of my life. I dont know whether this one will but it doedn't feel like it.Overall, I wish I'd just bought a cheaper pot or better still bought an original Brown Betty on eBay,

Infuriating pouring
This new version is infuriating. You have to pour ridiculously slowly, or risk a sudden surge of tea pouring out in all directions. We've been using this for nearly a year and I still can't get used to how slowly it pours out. Visitors to our house are often caught out by the slow pour. Nobody has the time to wait for this thing to pour tea!
