It works. There is nothing wrong with it.
I owned one of the taller versions of this coffee grinder for a few years. This is a shorter, and therefore more compact version of the taller grinder. The taller grinder is sold on Amazon under many different names and sellers but seems to come from the same factory. This one is shorter and I suspect comes from the same factory. The previous grinder that I owned worked great until a plastic part inside broke. I figure that, for the price, 3 or so years of service isn't bad. I can fit one shot-glass of coffee beans in this grinder. I use Chemex filters in a Budum carafe (a chemex look-a-like). Works really well. I removed and trashed the rubber grip. It didn't add value. I believe that you will like this coffee grinder. I don't understand why other people say it takes a long time to grind. Grinds at the same speed as every other silvery, cylindrical, manual coffee grinder on Amazon. Not a problem for me.

Product didn't last long for me.
I would have given this product a higher review, but it did not end up lasting that long for me. The handle used to grind the coffee broke after not a lot of uses. The screw that holds the knob on the handle used to grind the coffee broke. It isn't something I am able to repair on my own.

Perfect hand burr grinder
It's a great product to use when you want to get ultra fine on your coffee beans. When you want to adjust the grind, it does take a little trial and error. There aren't markings to indicate level of grind. I bought this product so that I wouldn't have to spend over 30 for a decent electric grinder that would do the same, and it hasn't disappointed yet. To clean it you will need a toothbrush like brush, as ultra fine grinding gets in between the grooves.

Broke in less than six months
I used this for coffee, about three to four times a week for a little less than five months. It wasn't a luxury item, to be sure, but it got the job done. I was able to adjust the grind satisfactorily, but the action always felt a bit off. Then, abruptly, it stopped working. At all. It's a simple mechanism, you wouldn't think there was much to go wrong. But the ceramic sleeve is loose, I guess, because the entire thing turns, now, instead of the grinding portion turning, and the ceramic sleeve offering resistance. I apologize for not knowing the technical terms to describe what's going on. I mean, yes, it was cheap. But it didn't even last six months!

Needs better quality control
Fairly simple design, easy setup and use. The only issue I had,(and possibly a big one), is that the fixed part of the ceramic is so far off center in the housing that the grinder rubs on one side and has a 1/8th inch gap on the other. It's doesn't produce a very even grind.

portable and satisfying grind experience
It’s great, super compact and portable. The top completely filled with beans is roughly the correct amount of grounds for a Hario pourover cup. Nice design.

Not precise
The ceramic gears do not align well. The gaps for the beans to fall through are bigger on one side and smaller on the other. I don't think this will work with seeds (which is why I bought it) due to this inequality. Otherwise, the size is great.
