Carhartt Women's Rain Defender Rockland Quilt Lined Zip Hooded Sweatshirt

Although I have yet to test it out in wet, chilly weather I suspect this will be a perfect sweat-jacket for those sorts of days! I ordered a large even though I typically prefer a medium, because I figured it would be a layered over other things. At first it seemed a bit too roomy but after washing it in hot and putting through the dryer it snugged up perfectly. It's a meaty piece of clothing: bulkier than a typical sweatshirt with the water-resistant quilting inside. Will be great for working outside, camping trips, and even motorcycle rides when the weather is cool.

I've ordered 5 of these jackets for my crew (sized Large to XL). They all run fairly true or a little big. The XL in mens swallows me up. The sleeves are about 4" too long.I ordered an XL Ladies for myself and it is so tight across the back that I cannot wear it. The sleeves are about an inch too short. I am extremely disappointed in this Jacket. In the photo, the black jacket is a man's XL and the burgandy on top is a ladies. I know it is hard to precisely line them up for comparison, but there is a HUGE difference when I put them on. I also read in the reviews that they will shrink.Ladies, do yourself a favor and pass on this one.

I hesitated buying this because it’s a sweatshirt and I wasn’t sure how it would do in 40 degrees but after reading reviews, I took a chance and boy am I glad I did. It’s lightweight but super warm! I love how soft it is on the outside, not too bulky either. I bought a large after reading reviews and I can perfectly fit another jacket under for extra warmth. I love all of the pockets as well! It fits me very well, I normally wear a medium. I am 5’3 and weigh 140. All in all, it’s so worth the money after all Carhartt is the best. :)

Pretty bummed about this jacket. :( I LOVE Carhartt and had high hopes with this one-- I needed a good sweatshirt for being outside in the cold/wet to feed and care for animals. Ordered a size up after reading reviews, but once I got it and tried it on, this is the weirdest fitting jacket...? It literally fit too small and too large at the same time. I ordered an XL, but barrel of the body was like the size of a 3XL and poofed out massively in the stomach, and the arms were like a medium? Fit fine in the length, but surely if I were to bend over to pick something up, I would've ripped the back of it like Chris Farley in Tommy Boy.Back it goes :(

I originally ordered this in a size L because my Carhartt sandstone jacket is a L and fits me well. The L fit like a M - too tight and short sleeves. I returned for an XL but it is a little roomy. It seems like there is a huge difference between these sizes. The XL sleeves fit ok when my arms are down and ride up a little when I raise them. No biggie as I don't want my sleeves dragging and getting cruddy when working. I have long arms and a long torso so sleeves in most things are a challenge. One reviewer said the sleeves fit tight and they do a little. The jacket feels warm and I like that it is water repellant. I am 5'6", 160lbs, size 10 pants and 12 jacket, normally wear ladies L or XL in most things.

It is very warm and comfortable. It is a little bulky but not overly bulky. It does protect from rain. There are pockets inside and the hood is big enough to hear a pony tail with.

I am 5’2 and 118 lbs medium fits perfect after it’s washed I love it.

Wife is 5’4” and 140 ish (if I had to guess), but busty. Medium was too snug to wear a sweatshirt underneath and tight in the chest. Returned for a large, which she loves!
