The plans so nice, I ordered them twice
The plans so nice, I ordered them twice. The second time was for an uncle who really liked the swing I built from my plans and wanted to build his own. I made slight modifications to the plans to build them out of pressure-treated dimensional lumber so that I could hang it from a garden arbor and leave it out in the elements. The swing wasn't too difficult to build, even with my relatively amateur woodshop and woodworking skills, and it came out very nice and comfortable. If I were to do it again, I would cut one of each of the seat frame pieces carefully out of hardboard using a band saw and then use it as a template. I would then cut my pieces using the template and a router straight bit with a bearing. An easy trick I have learned for repeatable pattern cuts since I made this swing. At any rate, I would recommend these swing plans.

I would definitely recommend these plans
Porch swing has all the instructions you need. A couple of pieces need to be cut with a dado blade. I don't have one and managed to makethe same cut using my router table. I also made a few adjustments by adding some extra support on the bottom of swing. Had trouble finding the size white oak the instructions used. I substituted cedar purchased from Home Depot. Took enclosed templates and transferred them to stiff foam board. I would definitely recommend these plans. Take your time, lots of cuts.

Easy to build!
Did it! The plan was clear and helpful. Full size patterns. The swing came out very nice. All you need is a table saw, drill/bits, and basic skills. I used treated wood(deck boards for slats) 2X for supports to make it last. About $50 for a $200 swing.

Porch Swing
We had some trouble actually receiving these plans.....but not because of the seller! The postal outlet threw away the plans because they were not a "package". Grrrrrrr! However, when I contacted the seller he immediately sent out new plans (to a different postal outlet) and we received them immediately.....along with a gift card for a future purchase.Awesome seller...and I am looking forward to sitting in my new swing.
