Important to note, that this is a 24-70mm optical lens. But, if you're feeling adventurous, and you're willing to produce somewhat softer images, it also has an electronic zoom available, which gives you 4X more. I wouldn't recommend it, since the image degrades quickly with it, but it is there. You can program the camera to use optical zoom only, 'ClearImage Zoom,' which kicks it up 2X, or the 'Digital Zoom,' which gives you that 4X boost.

How long can you record a video with a fully charged battery?

This camera will easily record up to it's limit of 30 minutes for a single clip on a full battery. This is an arbitrary limit for digital cameras to avoid being taxed extra as a video recording device.
