Q: My husband frequently wears a gun/holster on his belt...would this belt be compatible for this use and still work as a belt?

I don't think it would really work. this belt is pretty much suspender type material. it is stretchy. It basically adds an elastic band to the top of any jeans by applying tension using the front belt loops. The weight of a gun & holster would probably cause failure at a snap in front or damage to the elastic belt itself.

Q: Will this work for a 29 waist or would a smaller size be better?

I am a size 50 so I would recommend a smaller size

Q: For a 40” waist, which size is better?
