These work amazing for bottom fishing taug and black sea bass in the northeast. I would give it 5 stars except you only get 5 crabs for 7 bucks. The body itself is durable, the legs get picked off in two seconds. Not that big a deal since I cut the legs off when fishing live bait. I like that Gulp is an environmentally compatible artificial bait, but with all the packaging you could do more crabs per pouch.

I have to say, this brand is going down hill. I ordered this for my father for Father’s Day come to find out it only has 5 crabs in the packaging. For 7$. I remember picking these up in the store and they had more in the packages. Unless I’m mistaken. I feel like they’re over compensating for the packaging. Although these products are reusable, we all know after a couple uses they get tossed due to usage/note marks from the fish. Although, this product does work and it’s environmentally friendly. However, I will not be buying more for this price.

I only ordered 2 bags of these and really wish I had more of them. I caught larger fish and quicker than people with live bait here on the island. Very nice look, feel and smell. These do work...There are only 5 in a bag so a little expensive but really worth it if you want to catch when others cannot. Thanks

I was using dead shrimp one day and came across a small crab in the bag. When the crab hit the water, I pulled a 27 inch Redfish out the water. Needless to say, that led me to search for a plastic crab lure and my God, this lure is the best! The bags came in yesterday and made an afternoon trip today. On the second cast, I pulled in a 29 inch Redfish. Overall, I limited out on Redfish, but these badboys pulled in Speckled Trout, Black Drum, catfish and a stingrays! I have found myself a new favorite lure. Expensive yes, worth the buy? Hell yes.

Für dieses Produkt gibt es bislang keine deutschen Rezensionen, daher hier meine Erfahrung ausgiebig und klar eingeordnet. Es handelt sich um die Gulp! „Peeler Crabs“ von Berkley, also Kunstköder, die frisch gehäutete Krabben bzw. Krebse imitieren sollen. Der englische Begriff Peeler Crab wird in der Produktbeschreibung unerquicklich mit „Salzwasserschäler“ übersetzt – gemeint sind Butterkrebse, wie sie zumindest im norddeutschen Sprachraum heißen. Und ja: Butterkrebse sind ein exzellenter Köder – wenn man sie denn bekommt. Genau da liegt aber der Knackpunkt. Entgegen dem seit Jahrzehnten voneinander abgeschriebenen Unsinn in Fachbüchern bekommt man Butterkrebse nicht einfach im „gut sortierten Angelladen“. Das ist Praxisfremdheit in Reinform. Es gab vor Jahren einmal einen Anbieter für weiche Wollhandkrabben, der ist längst verschwunden. Wer Butterkrebse will, muss sie selbst fangen oder ziehen. Punkt. In der Hoffnung auf einen brauchbaren Ersatz habe ich diesen Kunstköder getestet. Gründlich. Zu gründlich. Die Köder kommen in einer extrem streng riechenden Lake, die wohl Krebsgeruch imitieren soll. In der Hand fühlt sich das Ganze zwar typisch „Gulp“ an, aber damit hören die positiven Aspekte auch schon auf. Ich habe diese Köder: in Ostsee und Nordsee in Island in Norwegen vom Boot und vom Ufer langsam, schnell, jiggend, schleifend, driftend gezielt und „aus Verzweiflung“ gefischt. Ergebnis: kein einziger Biss. Null. Und das nicht unter „schlechten Bedingungen“, sondern genau dort, wo Pilker, Gummifische oder Naturköder zuverlässig Fisch gebracht haben. Während auf der einen Rute Fisch um Fisch kam, blieb die Rute mit diesem angeblichen Wunderköder konsequent tot. Hinzu kommt: Die Köder sind nicht besonders haltbar. Nach wiederholtem Auswerfen sind sie zerfleddert, ohne vorher auch nur ansatzweise ihre Existenzberechtigung bewiesen zu haben. Mein Eindruck: Das mag in den USA auf Schwarzbarsch funktionieren – der beißt bekanntlich auch auf Dinge, die hierzulande bestenfalls Kopfschütteln auslösen (Stichwort „Flying Lure“). Für europäische Salz- und Kaltwasserfischerei sind diese Köder aus meiner Sicht völlig ungeeignet. Fazit: Ein teurer Kunstköder, der ein hervorragendes Naturvorbild verspricht, diesem aber in keiner Weise gerecht wird. Wer wirklich mit Butterkrebsen fischen will, kommt um echte Tiere nicht herum. Dieser Ersatz ist keiner. Klare Warnung: Spart euch das Geld. 1 Stern.
