Good product for the puzzle box only. Has an antique or steampunk appearance. Comes in a fancy gift box with magnet clasp. Easy to add your own code to the puzzle by following the instructions. One of the locking screws was defective, but I managed to disassemble and reassemble it anyway. I gave this as a gift to my niece with cash inside. The JRR Tolkein rings inside were not wanted, so I left them out. The included gift card had an inappropriate poem, so also was not wanted or used. The puzzle is better without these extra things that have limited appeal and narrow purpose. I would also prefer the capsule to have a plain opening, not a heart, so it could be a general gift including to boys, co-workers, etc. It is limiting that this puzzle box is presented strictly as a romantic gift. Overall, it has a great look and makes a novel gift.

Gave as a gift at family white elephant but removed the rings and filled it with hershey's kisses. The rings are fun but obviously very cheap so I kept them. They included two string-type necklaces so the rings can be worn around the neck. The password was easy enough to reset with the included screw driver.The cryptex is hefty and has a really nice weight in the hands. The letters can be a little difficult to turn but not terribly so.My only complaint is the the opening on the inner tube has some sharp seams left over from the molding process. They can be sanded down, and might not be present in every item, but still a small downside. I have so far used this cipher for two escape-room type games with my friends, and everyone has been completely blown away by how well made this cryptex is. From the second you open the box the experience is delightful - it's well packaged like a gift, and even contained two items inside it when I first opened it, which I did not expect! It was very easy to change the code, as well.Very happy with this purchase!

I originally purchased this to give to a coworker who loves puzzles. The cryptex came along with some replica 'Lord of the Rings' rings, which I removed, and a butterfly charm on a piece of paper. When I got it opened, I noticed a 'design' cut out on both sides of the inner chamber that are in the shape of a heart. I did not feel comfortable using it for a coworker gift when there was a metal heart cutout in the structure of the item.However, the quality is fantastic - it is sturdy and very durable. I was able to change the code easily. Overall this is a great gift, but it is limited to certain types of recipients.

Made well… you can feel the quality. It’s even cooler in the person than the pics. Worth it and the rings are cool too.

I loved getting this for my girlfriend and changing the code so she had to get hints to figure it out. It was alot of fun to toy with her and it's very re-giftable, you could put something else inside, change the code and boom, new gift.

This was much more heavy duty then I imagined. The rings and card are a little weird that come with it but its great to hide another gift in the inside.

A great gift and simple to set the combination. Problem I had was just a handful of burs and fitted too tight to spin the wheels easily. 10 minutes with a bit of sandpaper to the inner and side surfaces of the wheels fixed that right up.
