I'm a home baker and have been getting by with a garbage bread knife until now. I picked this up because I'm willing to spend more than $20 at a chain store and wanted a knife that would be well balanced, maintain it's edge, and cut bread cleanly without extra tearing.It absolutely gets all that done and looks/feels great. If I were to do anything different I'd get a longer one. That's not a defect or complaint, just a realization through use. This is good.

This is my second Paudin knife (the first was a chef’s knife.). These knives are well made and a terrific bargain. My son has been baking sourdough bread, and we needed a proper bread knife to do justice to his amazing creations. These knives feel substantial, are very sharp, and do the job well.
