Ok, but slipped on the filament
I bought this to replace the extruder drive for my Geeetech A10 because the plastic lever arm that came with the original drive had cracked (and I figured aluminum parts would be unlikely to crack). When the part arrived I was a little surprised that it didn’t include instructions (only the components in a ziploc bag) nor were any tools included (the only tool that I really would have liked included would be a wrench for the jimmy screws- those things are tiny!). I was able to look up assembly instructions on the Geeetech website, and got to work installing the drive.I had the same experience as a previous reviewer (that the mounting bolts are flat out too short for the A10) and struggled quite a bit with the installation as several of the tapped holes in the parts had bits and cross-threaded with the bolts. When the drive was completed I went to test it out and had quite a bit of trouble feeding in the filament compared to my old drive- nothing that can’t be fixed (I think I need to craft and install a small guide cone to funnel the filament into the guide tube on the outlet side of the drive), but a little frustrating. Once I got the filament routed through, the test part I printed ran fine without issues.A few few prints later I started having feeding problems- the motor and drive gear would turn but slipped on the filament, cutting into it. I tried everything- replacing the tension arm spring with a larger one, taking it apart and putting it back together, and no luck- I'm back to square one and plan to repair the original extruder drive.

Broke imediately!
Extruder seems solid with only 1 issue so far However it brought my machine to an indefinite halt. The 7mm bolt that the bar pivots on only had a couple turns off threading into the softer aluminum body. This stripped out as soon as I pressed on the bar. The threads run deeper through the stepper body. This bolt should be longer. 9mm or better to start with. This 3M screw is smaller than any stores in my area carry. I am trying to avoid buying a large pack online for the 2 screws I want. However multi packs are all I am finding online. The next problem is the head diameter is 5mm. The packs online are only 5.5mm or larger. Beware of the hardware provided and expect to replace the bolts when you install or immediately after.

Must have if you have a Mk8 Extruder!
I have several Geeetech printers and they all have the MK8 extruder. The only issue I have had with these extruders is the plastic lever for keeping pressure on the filament so the filament will advance in the extruder breaks. I bought a different brand feeder as a test and then Geeetech released this one. Great quality, direct bolt on and works great! I feel this is a must have item if you are using the MK8 extruder. Works for the Boden tube version as well.

What a difference this product made in the quality of my prints!
I was having various issues with my prusa i3 pro w when attempting to print. No matter what I changed (pla, temp, extrusion, clicking...) the prints were inconsistent. One day while troubleshooting, I found that the cheap plastic extrusion arm was cracked and broken which affected my tension....then I bought this. The difference was the adjustable tension spring. Once I dialed the tension in correctly, all of the other issues I had went away and I've gotten nothing but smooth prints since. I would highly recommend this. Throughout my research into my problems no one ever mentioned the importance of having the right tension arm settings, but it changed my printing experience.

Great Extruder Upgrade for the Geeetech A10M
Great upgrade for the Geeetech A10M. Once installed and calibrated it runs great. The only reason I gave it four stars is that there were no instructions included with the order, but that being said you can find the instructions on their website. The second picture is what I found to be the best estep setting for this extruder with the A10M.

Great upgrade for A30
Definitely a better upgrade from the plastic feeder parts. The fit is excellent and having adjustable spring tension is a plus. The reductuon of one star is for lack of proper hardware to mount on the printer. The 2 - M3x25 screws on the outgoing side are too short for my Geetech A30. They needed to be 30mm , so I countersunk the heads and that gave me enough for a secure mount. Other than that its working better than the original.

Well made, rigid and reliable extruder for a Bowden setup
This extruder assembly from Geetech is nicely machined and easy to assemble. Provides a nice grip when pushing filament and being adjustable is the key feature for me. Easily adjust the tension of the hobbed gear to fine tune the grip applied to your filament as it enters the bowden tube. Would purchase again

Worth it for the adjustable spring tension alone
The price is great, looks good and works well so far. I love the adjustable tension since most other aluminum extruders on Amazon don’t have this feature. The current reason for a 4 star is that the screws aren’t long enough to work on the A10. I had to use a spare screw and one of my original screws from the plastic extruder that came with my A10. Also, even with those, they aren’t long enough to use the silicone washers.
