Master Lock Chain Lock, Standard Combination Bike Lock, 4 ft. Long, Red, 8147D

I wrapped around the seat post of a 1976 Schwinn Stingray. I did actually use as a lock, and it is hard for an old guy to see at night. Numbers and tumblers are all shiny, but it is more of an ornament than a theft deterrent.

I love this type of like security because it’s flexible… The ones with the solid steel cable are always a struggle to get straightened out and put around bike racks, poles, etc. It’s also long enough to reach just about any place where I park it. I wouldn’t leave my bike overnight with something like this, because I think the combination is a little bit flimsy, but it works great for me to leave it outside the store when I go in for errands, etc.

Being used for my mobility scooter when parked in my tenant lot. Very good product.

This lock comes with a preset code, of four numbers. The shackles of the chain are pretty sturdy and would take a while to break through. I am not qualified to judge how quickly the lock itself would be breakable by a thief, but having four different numbers one through six does help, many others have only three, and four adds a whole lot of combinations (from 216 to 1296 combinations). Still, I use this as an extra lock to keep my front tire from getting stolen, it's not my main lock, and I wouldn't trust it for a main lock. For the price it is a heavy chain and the lock feels very sturdy, I like this better than the much thinner cables with three combinations that cost about the same.

Coast was way to much for this product. Nothing spectacular except the price.

If you are person who has to remember multiple password and secret numbers, then you may have to add one more 4 digit number to the list - Yes this chain lock comes with preset 4 digit number - I keep forgetting this number many times and end up in spending some time in recollecting these. That is however an individual's problem and cannot be tagged against the product. The chain lock appears good and seem to match the color of my bike. It is pretty long (4 feet) and so there is no problem in locking my bike against any available slot. The chain's thickness is fine (for what you pay) and the locks are also working proper. I got this delievered via Amazon Prime so overall I am happy with the quality of the product taking into account what I paid for it. It would be good if more color choices are available as for some, it may appear too bright and may take the attraction from your bike(if you have a very good one). Incase you are looking for just a chain lock to secure your bike, then go for this one

I am very please with the product I recieved. It is exactly what I was expecting given what I paid for it. It's a very simple lock that fits my needs. It doesn't coil conveniently to fit the form of your bike, but who needs that really? A little effort never hurt anyone. It is a simple lock for my very simple bike... if you have a crazy nice bike that people are always going to be after, I would recommend a U-lock, but you'll pay the price and that's not what I was looking for. So yeah, I'm very pleased.
