Q: how does this work on pet hair?

Excellent ! That's was my main reason in buying this vacuum .

Q: Does it have a washable filter?

Yes, as a matter of fact the unit is constructed so that all of the dust collection areas can be lightly rinsed or washed.

Q: How long is the hose? and is it easy to use ?

Stretched out, I think its about 10 feet long. And its very easy to use. We use this to clean our church, and getting up under the pews is a breeze.

Q: I have no carpet but I have tile and wood laminate and 4 dogs and 2 cats. Does it work on hard floors with pet hair?

Yes. However it would be overkill. Maybe a Shark Rocket would be better for your use.
