Seeds Of Change 7389 Garden Chives, Green

Few seeds germinated and what came up was weak. We grew these indoors. We watered, used good potting soil but the results were poor. I'm giving three stars because we might have done something wrong.

I didn’t know these would take 75 days to grow so hopefully when I start to see growth I will change the rating but for now I have it at 3 stars they sit under a grow light during the day, so I thought maybe by now I would see something but nope!

Good value, good quality

Unlike so many seeds on Amazon, these actually sprouted quickly and look to be chives and not weeds. I have learned the hard way to only buy seeds from reputable American companies like Hirts or Seeds of Change. If your seed order takes 2 months to ship to you, they are coming from china and will disappoint you.

I must’ve broadcast like 50 of these seeds, TWICE, at different times in the season and not a dinged danged ONE of them germinated. Even actually, intentionally planted them in a pot that I babied as well as I could. After a month, gave up and shoved some leek scraps in that pot, and they’re flourishing. Still not a single chive, though.

The seeds sprouted within a few days. I kept them moist and they are about 3 inches tall now after 3.5 weeks. They are growing well in a mason jar in my kitchen window. Looking forward to trying them in my scrambled eggs!
