I just received this product and my first impression so far is that it's a solid product for suture practice. The sutures are individually packaged and include various sizes and materials which I found awesome so I can get a feel for the different types of sutures while I practice. I tried out the nylon 3-0 with a banana and it did well, although it is a little too thick for a banana skin. I'll update this review with any new info as I continue to practice and use new sutures. If you want a cheap box of sutures to practice, go for it!

exactly what I needed to practice sutures, easy to use, works well, just make sure you learn about the different suture wires before practing so you know what should be for what, what works best for what injuries. Great buy highly recommend

Same brand for patch work out of town. Bad gash and lucky enough for an army medic to field dress. Use professionals always but early treatment stacks the deck.

I wanted to review these after I was able to perform a miracle on Christmas! I want to preface this with the fact that nobody should be doing surgeries at home, and I did have access to other medical equipment to be able to do this. My dog cut her side up pretty good and I needed a way to close it on Christmas Eve, when a lot of the veterinary clinics around me were closed. I was able to get this fast enough to do a couple of sutures on her side. Everything comes sterile and has proper expiration date markings. One thing that I would definitely recommend and forgot during this was a needle holder! It is definitely possible to complete the sutures without it, but it is a bit difficult to keep everything looking tidy. I will include an after picture, but don’t want to shock with a before image. ***Once again, I did have a pretty sterile environment and some other tools to finish this! I popped three non-absorbable stitches and three absorbable stitches into my dog’s side, where the skin is really wiggly and there was a lot of tension on the cut. The stitches held great, and felt like other sutures I have used in hospital. I also kept a sterile covering with Steri-Strips over the injury. I did shave all of the fur around the wound to be able to see it better, which helped immensely. A week and a half later, and this injury is almost entirely healed, and we had no signs of infection throughout the whole process!

So there I was, ready to be witnessed and live my last moment of half-life glory so that I could die and live again shiny and chrome in Valhalla when this guy pops up out of nowhere and kicks me off of my war rig. I took a pretty nasty spill and ended up with a decent sized cut above my leftmost horrible mutant cancer nodule. Thankfully, I had just purchased this suture kit and was able to close the wound before too much irradiated sand got in there. Good quality, would buy again in this life or the next.

we are and have been stocking up for the possibility/probability of you know what breaking loose, bought these extras to add to my emergency medical kit, they are great for practice, try it on a whole chicken from the store, use your survival emergency medical handbook and suture away....these are a great price and variety, good to have a set in the truck when in the woods cutting logs etc...yes I have had to do a quick suture...
