Worked great to determine which wheel had a bad bearing.
I had bought just the transmitters for connecting to a Pico scope and a handheld recorder with RCA cables, BNC to RCA adapters and RCA to mono 3.5mm adapter. Got a waveform with the Pico scope and a sound recording with the recorder. Easy to figure out which wheel bearing was bad.

Used them for DIY chassis ear.
I used these inexpensive and ingenious piezo mike clamps along with a set of low cost 12V phono amps to make a hybrid of Steelman's versions. Piezo is a high impedance source so running a wire all the way back to the monitor is like connecting an antenna to the input. Lots of static and even radio reception as well as unbalanced response between different clamps. Keeping the amp close to the clamp solves that, like they do with the radio and blue tooth versions. But I ran a separate cable back to a selector switch, as well as 12V power from the cigarette lighter for each one (actually one stereo preamp will accept two inputs). I used a 1.5" neodynium magnet screwed to the top of each preamp to hold them in place underneath the car as well as smaller magnets with carabiner hooks to string the cables. I had this terrible whine coming from somewhere after I took my Z3 out of the garage after sitting for 10 years. Turned out to be in the drive shaft center bearing, which was of course the hardest thing to get to. But the noise came through loud and clear. I had a old set of headphones and a pocket size headphone amp and 4 preamp outputs going through a phono selector switch so I could easily flip between 4 channels while out for a drive. It ended up costing as much as the high end Steelman version but I used all high quality components and cables.

Good replacement
Bought these because I broke one that came with the transmitter set. Works just like the ones that came with it, perfectly!

Good!
I use with Lapscope to point out where the issue are coming in from.Yes, I had to make extension cables to attach to my scope and setting at 1v /dc for view!

Great buy.
Good buy. If you need these then you know they are easy to loose when test driving. A must have for the wireless chassis ear.

FLIMSY.
Flimsy flimsy flimsy. Yes these are the same as the units that came wth the OEM kit. My god, could they make these things ANY flimsier? The wire is like Cat5, micro thin. The RCA type plug's tip is plastic covered in metal. It snaps under the slightest force. If you look at these things hard enough they will break. These unts will not withstand the slightest abuse and given the application and how expensive STEELMAN's kit is, I really expect more. I mean this is literally 1930s technology.Lord knows I appreciate it, but for the price point, I expect better quality.
