Magnum Target AR500 Steel Hostage Reactive IDPA 2/3 Shooting Target 3/8in 12X20 for T-Post New

After only 5 outings the tube holding one of the spinners actually split in half and flew off the back. This is on the back side and does not get direct hits.I'm only firing .223 at 50 yards and handguns at 5 to 20 yards. No outrageous calibers. So I have to grind off the broken tube and get a sturdier pipe and weld it on in place if the original.Also the spinners don't move easily in the round tubes because they are cut from flat plates of steel. The square corners of the spinner arm get hung up (probably how the tube broke). So im going to grind down the square edges of the piece that inserts into the tube to have rounded edges to make them spin easier.Also the bracket that holds the silhouette lets it move. The silhouette ends up tilting left a lot making it harder to spin a target from the left. I'm going to drill holes in the plate and the bracket to try to mount it with bolts. Otherwise I'll end up welding it together.I'll still happy with the target, just didn't expect so many alterations needed to use it.

my wife bought this for me for Christmas. yes, she loves me and she is great. it is exactly like the pictures. I bought a t post at lowes for $6 and it works great. the small reactive center mass target and head target are orange, as is the target holder that fits on the t post. the hostage target is white. smooth and professional. of course, you'll have to repaint after a session of plinking, but spray paint does the trick. the whole setup is well made and I am absolutely thrilled! I have 3 other steel targets I've been using for a couple of years. they have held up nicely and this is as good of quality if not better. i don't think you'll find a better deal or better made hostage target with a center mass reactive target at a better price.

Finally got a chance to setup this target up and fire a few rounds off on it.Target setup was easy. The target stays in the stand cradle for it ok, but does bounce around quite a bit and fell out of the cradle a few times.The arms for the center targets have some issues where along the welds that the paddle arms slide into have cracked and developed some burrs. If you have a welder, it would be an easy fix to remove the metal tubes, weld in new one for the arms and weld a seam along the crack. Without a welder to fix the cracks the target does not function as designed. It could be some bad welds or the metal lost temper. This was after about 250 rounds of 9mm, 100 rounds of .40 and 200 rounds of .45 at about 25-30 yards. The tubing that the paddle arms slide into may need to be heavier and have an angled deflector in front of the weld to reduce the wear and burring.We loved the design and easy setup. However, we expected to get more use out of it before having it wear out. It was a pricey purchase for 2 days of use.

The target is great; I will buy a couple more. It is not as large as I expected; that is on me I guess; it is heavy probably sized as the biggest and heaviest thing they can send in the US Mail? Our post office person could not lift it; don't tell anyone, eh? The circle hole for the center gong is only 5 inches; the swinging head gong is 6 inches but some of that as you can see is covered by the hostage; I cannot say who we named the hostage after. We put it up at 200 yards and shoot at it from the bench with .243, 6mm, 25-06, and AR 15s; so far just burned the paint off. I need to find a heavier duty "T" post. The "T" post from Rural King are wimpy and this target is heavy but it works great. I am going to buy another one for 350 yards and may get one for 77 meters, too. I would not recommend this for a pistol target because for me to hit the 5" gong with a handgun I would have to be too close to the steel for safety. We do shoot at free swinging steel as close as 50 yards but the hostage don't swing; it is if properly mounted on an angle that will deflect the bullet splatter downward; I would not recommend shooting at any steel closer than 100 yards. On my private range if the shooter hits the "T" post that is a $5 fine, eh?

This is a durable target for AR-15 practice. It is quick to set up and takedown. It sheds 223 55gr. like it was a 22. All you are going to need is paint to keep this working great. 223 forcefully flips the flappers between 50-70yd. I haven't had the range to do more distance yet. I wouldn't call this a bargain, but if you want to shoot and not change targets all day this is for you!

I'm not sure what I'm looking at on the pictures with the bad reviews...the product I received isn't put together that way.This is a solid product well designed and I am confident it will hold up to years of armed conflict.

I absolutely love this target. Having a target like this allows you to train drills much more efficiently. The construction is built with great material. Being as I work in an industry where weld quality is critical, I did have to "clean up" some minor discontinuities.

Performs well. I like that they set up a T Post mount too.
