It was copied exactly from an original in our collection.But let us explain precisely why it is the very best: The shell is constructed of 1.8mm thick steel, exactly the same thickness used by the Germans in WWII. This means our helmet is as heavy and as solid as an original. The shell is large (size 70) and has the correct classic M1935 rolled edge as well as proper hollow rivet ventilation holes. For added authenticity we stamped the code 1575 at nape and ET-70 over ear. The liner comprised of soft tan (cream colored) genuine leather that, just like the originals, will turn brown with age, in correct eight finger configuration with central drawstring and an M1931 aluminum liner band that is maker marked, dated, and size stamped! Liner size can accommodate head sizes 7 1/2 (60cm) up to 7 3/4 (62cm). The all leather chinstrap has a black exterior with tan interior, comes with metal studs, correct aluminum buckle, and connects to the helmet with proper D rings. The finish/color is smooth gray-green or "field-grau", we worked hard on getting to color correct, which is what typically ruins a reproduction helmet, so hard that we spent 2 months testing formulas to until we got it right. Every German man should have!
Bought this as a gift for my husband's birthday and he really, really likes it. It fits large or what others may call extra large or German-sized men, perfectly. Of course adjustable and every detail has had German level/quality attention.Multi purpose tool- helmet, water carrier, shave bowl, seat, and possible weapon if used properly.

Great helmet, ordered larger than my head on purpose.
I mark it as too large but that's only because I am more interested in buying to fit the first time rather than dicking around trying to send things back and get the perfect fit. I got the X-Large and it is pretty loose fitting around my head but the chin strap keeps it in place and the extra looseness gives me space for adding toques or hats underneath which would make it fit comfortably together easily. Overall, very good buy and very happy. I've heard things about paint chipping issues regarding IMA helmets but I just received it so I will have to wait to see evidence of that.

Perfectly made replica
If you're looking for a well made replica German helmet this one fits the bill,I bought another around fifteen years ago that was too small,it fit but looked odd,no such problem with this one,fits great and looks right.I'd say IMA is good to go if you want WWII replica gear.
