Running 3rd Party equipment on Amcrest NVR or DVRs will result in some feature loss due to the incompatibility of the software. It is not recommended to use 3rd Party Equipment. Amcrest Team

I hope you were able to get answers to your question. I'm also looking for a NVR for my foscam cameras.

Q: What is the total bandwidth in mbps for this nvr?

Very Low. Most likely 80 mbps. There are UTube videos that show the unit chocking, dropping frames, very low frame rates, etc. with just four to five cameras running. Check it out prior to purvchase.

Q: Would you say Amcrest has the best quality NVR and cameras out of the choices available in this price range?

I can't answer you exactly because I only have experience with Amcrest. I have their NVR and 5 cameras and, overall, I am satisfied with their system and will purchase more cameras. For a typical homeowner (like me) I would say that Amcrest is more of a hobbyist system, i.e. it is not "plug and play." My guess is that if you want plug and play then you would look at Nest or Ring, etc. but these cost much more and I'm not sure if they have NVR's. The written documentation is not good so you will need their tech support; some of their techs are good and some not. In summary, if you like to play around with electronics, I would recommend Amcrest due to capability and price. If you want a system that's easy to set up and forget about, look elsewhere.
