Great Book
This book is great for a teacher to use with their students! The audio recordings, and worksheets at the end of the book are very useful.

Nice contemporary book
This text covers a lot of varied material, and the pages are attractive. I wish there were multiple appendices with lists of essential grammar and vocabulary, rather than scattered throughout the text, which teaches concepts in themed story context. A more complete table of contents and/or index would be helpful in trying to locate lists. For example, words for numbers 100 and up are located in a chapter about vacationing at an inn.

Not a self study guide
I bought the book through a local Italian bookstore, not Amazon. As everyone else has mentioned, it is completely in Italian. The book is structured to be used with an Instructor and other students. If you're trying to study on your own I recommend Assimil Italian with ease (and make sure you get the MP3 CD with it!).I'm about 60 lessons into Assimil and decided I need to supplement this with other materials. And used this way, Nuovo Espresso looks like it will help. Not only to fill in gaps not covered (yet anyway) with Assimil, but to reinforce what I already now. I doubt any single source is going to get anybody to a B2 level, and I'm certainly getting there in the 3 months Assimil claims. I am older, so slower at learning new things. So I am hoping in 3 or 4 years maybe I'll be sniffing around a B1 level.Getting back to Nuovo Espresso 1, I made sure I bought the book with 'con videocorso'. It cost more and actually you don't have to do that. Once you have the book, it points you to a website that has all the materials from the DVD. I have google translate handy, even though I've been studying for well over a year now and this is an A1 book, I couldn't get very far without typing phrase after phrase into translate, even on the first few pages.
