NeuLUX™ Gorilla AR Glass Lens Upgrade compatible with MAGLITE Flashlight (C & D Model)

I was so pleased with the huge improvement in Clarity with the NeuLux Gorilla Glass Lens. The old plastic lens was not that badly scuffed or scratched in the old, but still nice condition 3D Cell MagLite, I chose to upgrade. The NeuLux Lens is .08 in thick (2mm), as opposed to the original plastic lense at .06 in thick (1.5mm). Consequently, the bezel ring that holds the lens against the body of the flashlight did not tighten down quite the same as it did before and left a small gap (of just under .02 in/.5mm). As the O-Ring in the bezel ring did tighten against the lens and the bezel ring skirt then came over the O-Ring on the body of the flashlight to keep everything water tight--I do not see any problem. Other reviewers have noted this gap. After looking at the above fitting on my MagLite, I think it really is a just a small cosmetic issue. I will take the durability of the new lens as a more than acceptable trade off. I really like the idea of how scratch resistant this glass should be. The light transmission is so much better than any plastics, even when they are new. I could tell how much better the clarity was with both the original type bulb and the roughly 200 lumen LED upgrade now installed. As a side note, pure silicone grease like that used in diving equipment (available on Amazon) is great stuff for all your O-Rings. I am super happy with the NeuLUX Gorilla Glass Lens. It even comes with a note with a nice message to the customer about the company really wanting to make sure you are happy with this product. If not, they want to know how they can make it so. I intend to buy more of this product and can heartily recommend it to others.

I recently upgraded my 20-year old Mag-Lite to an LED bulb which, once installed, showed every single scratch on my original plastic lens. I immediately searched for a glass lens replacement, and ordered this Neutek product, and I couldn't be happier. As expected, my upgraded Mag-Lite was much clearer with this new lens. But I was very impressed by a small quality feature that I didn't expect or even think of. Over the years, I’ve had many a standard flashlight (back in the day when carbon batteries were the norm), and every one of their glass lenses (the standard back then) had sharp edges that almost seems to be stamped out of a larger sheet. Hell, you could cut rope with the edges of those lenses. As I installed this lense, however, I noticed that the edging was smooth and not sharp to the touch at all with a nice bevel. A small thing, but it spoke to quality and made me feel that I had bought from the right company. I would only recommend that when installing, you handle the lens with a slightly damp microfiber cloth to prevent dust and smudges.

Wanted to replace the scuffed up plastic lens on my maglite. This glass was the perfect solution. It’s solid, nice and thick, and my flashlight is super bright now. No more scratches making shadows. I’m worried about how the glass will hold up, but i don’t abuse my flashlight, even if it is a mag lite. All I had to do was pop out the old one and put in the new one. Super easy to put in.

good price fast shipping. This in combo with a new reflector, new LED bulb and my old 2 D Maglite works well again. Can't speak to durability so held back one star - but I'm optimistic. Didn't realize how scratched up the old original plastic lens was until I replaced it w this glass - definitely a big improvement.

Can't really say anything negative about the lense. Perhaps I did miss it in the product description. Or. With Maglite coming out with new/newer models. The product description just has not been updated. This will not fit the MagLite ML50LX LED 2-Cell C. Which it had been purchased for. Fortunately for me I have an old, upgraded to LED, 4 D that likes it very much. Also have a OEM LED 3 D. Will be double checking the fit in it as well. A second one may be ordered. Unfortunately I do not have a light meter to test any increase in light clarity or distance. But my eyeball meter thinks it sees a, if only slightly, cleaner whiter light.

The original plastic lens on my Maglite was all foggy and made the beam look dull. This lens is actually made of glass and is super clear and made a world of difference. Easy to install and not too expensive. I highly recommend this lens if you are in the market for a replacement for your Maglite.

Between this lens upgrade and replacing our dead incandescent bulb with a new LED bulb, our old 2 D-cell is like a completely new flashlight. I knew the LED bulb would make a big difference, but I have to admit that I was skeptical that a glass lens would make much difference. Still, I figured that for the cost it was worth a try. I replaced the original bulb with the LED but kept the original plastic lens to see how much of a difference the LED bulb made. As expected, it was pretty bright compared to the incandescent. Then I replaced the plastic lens with the Neutek crystal glass lens. Call me amazed! I didn't do quantitative measurement, but, subjectively, the beam does look about twice as bright as it did with the original plastic lens. I think this is definitely worth the price.
